Nothing But Trouble – (Chapter: Five- Fly Me To The Moon)

Silence sat like a heavy blanket in the car for a few seconds, both girls equally lost in thought. It was only when Ashley pulled into the driveway of her Beverly Hills home that Spencer broke the ice, “Wow. You still manage to live in style Davies.” She spoke, eyes glued to the magnificent brick house before them. Ashley only chuckled a bit, rolling her eyes as she parked and exited the vehicle.

Walking along, the blonde meandered up the pathway towards the large front door. It was a nice place, of course it was, Ashley lived here. She should feel out of  place standing here, but she didn’t, and she hated that. The last thing in the world she wanted was to fall back into that Ashley trap, yet the magnetic draw between them was undeniable. Turning she faced Ashley, who was watching Spencer with a good bit of concern and curiosity.

“What?” Ashley asked, noticing the soft frown of concentration gracing Spencer’s features. Those perfect full lips pressed together in a thin line.
“Nothing. It just feels like….” She stopped, shaking her head slightly, “It’s nothing.”
“Feels like what?” She pushed, slipping the key into the lock and pressing the door open.
Spencer stepped inside, taking the house in before she turned to face Ashley.
    “It feels like a home.”

Ashley could see the tears rising to the brim of Spencer’s eyes and gave a small sigh. Wrapping her arms around the girl she pulled her in close, feeling her arms envelope her waist, “Well, you can call it yours for as long as you want.” Ashley didn’t even debate the wisdom of letting a convicted thief stay in her home, she was certain the girl would never steal from her.
“You don’t have to do that.” Spencer spoke, voice muffled slightly by Ashley’s shoulder.
“Do what?” She was confused, her head a bit in the clouds.
Spencer pulled away a bit, her bright blue eyes meeting their chocolate twin’s, “Take care of me.”

Ashley found their lips were painfully close, she could feel Spencer’s warm breath on her skin, and it was sending soft chills down her spine. Her eyes drifted from Spencer’s lips to her eyes, to her lips, then back again. It was Spencer who finally closed the distance, her mouth meeting Ashley’s in a fevered, needy manner. For a second they both seemed to be frozen, but as Ashley’s tongue ran across Spencer’s bottom lip, requesting access, they were flung into a series of frantic motions.

It was the kind of passion that could only be ignited between two ex-lovers. That kind of anxious urgency that couldn’t let you get those clothes off fast enough. Soon shirts had been lost, next jeans, next under wear. The feel of each other’s hands moving over skin sent chills down their spines and pushed sweat to spring from their brows. Whatever inhibitions Spencer may have had in the bedroom before had been completely forgotten by now.

By the time it was over, the entire house had been flooded by darkness, and they lay tangled together atop of a couch. “Ash….” Spencer whispered, lifting a hand and stroking her dark curly hair.
“Mmm?” Ashley replied, loving the sound of her name on her lips.
“I missed you.” Spencer smiled a bit, her eyes warm and glowing. She only wished they could remain like this forever. Lost in this place between heaven and earth, where she forgot all her problems and remembered only bliss.
