    Ashley finally talks to Lindsay and she makes a suggestion to Spencer.

    “Spencer loves me. I love her. We’ve both done things that we regret,” Lindsay said calmly, “but we can work past that. We’ve done it before.”

    “It’ll never happen, Lindsay.”

    “Whatever you say, Ashley. Can I speak to Spencer now?”

    “Are you serious? No!”

    “You’re not going to keep her with chains. Spencer doesn’t work that way.”

    The conversation continued for a few more minutes before Ashley finally hung up the phone.

    “All I have to say,” the brunette said as she walked into the bathroom where Spencer was still ear-high in the tub, “is that Erin better not show up on my doorstep in the morning demanding I take her back.”

    “What? I couldn’t hear you,” Spencer said, sitting up.

    “Nothing, there’s just been so much drama lately.”

    “I know. I’m sorry…I know that it’s my fault.”

    “It’s ok. I’m just happy that after all the phone calls and crazy exes and whatever else, I can come in here and take a bath with you,” Ashley said, stepping into the water and sitting across from Spencer.

    Spencer smiled, moving her fingers up and down her girlfriend’s thighs.

    “See? Totally worth it.”

    “Still, I’m sorry…about everything. I promise it’ll all be over soon and we can get back to us,” Spencer said, continuing her movement along Ashley’s thighs.

    “You know what we need to do?”

    “Go to bed?”

    “Yes, but besides that.”

    “Never answer the phone after ten o’clock?”

    “Spence…no. We need a vacation. You’re still recovering from a serious loss, we’ve got drama seeping out of the cracks of this relationship…everything is insane right now. Not to mention, work is seriously going to kill me if I don’t relax soon.”

    “So what do you suggest?”

    “Maybe we can go to my beach house for a few days, get away from the Lindsays and the Rachels and my job and everything else. We can just be, you know? Just be with each other and not have to worry about anyone or anything else. I mean…I miss you. Just you.”

    Ashley looked at Spencer with a sincerity and desperation that the blonde could literally feel. She couldn’t say no to that face.

    “Wait, you have a beach house?”

     

     

     

    The next morning—a Friday—Ashley called in sick to her job, ignoring the annoyed tones she got from her coworkers. Spencer already had the day off, but she had arrangements of her own to make—the first being to turn off her cell phone.
