    Spencer wakes up alone. The bird doesn’t make sense. Neither does this summary.

    “Ruin the ending for me and I’ll kill you.”

    “You don’t even care!” Spencer yelled, taking a sip from her glass of red wine.

    “I never said I didn’t care. I simply inquired about the dumb bird.”

    “I totally identify with this movie, you know? I mean, I understand what Tori’s going through even if she is made out to be…”

    “Wait, you mean that traitor with the epic tits? No way, she’s a bitch.”

    “She’s scared, ok! She doesn’t know what to do. She loves Paulie, but she also has this weird relationship with her mother. I totally get that.”

    “Traitor, she’s a traitor. You’re always supposed to choose true love over everything else. It’s not even a question.”

    Spencer felt the guilt slowly seep into her body. It’s just a movie, she thought. But everything somehow symbolized her relationship with Ashley—everything. She could’ve even made a very convincing argument about how the spaghetti was indicative of her life with Ashley. And she would have if the brunette wasn’t beside her, her eyes focused intently on the screen, her knee almost touching Spencer’s. How was she going to be this girl’s friend when she straddled a fine line of wanting to marry her and wanting to fuck her brains out?

    “That groundskeeper is a sexual predator. I’m telling you, he’s after Rat,” Ashley said, bringing her fork to her mouth.

    “Mouse.”

    “What?”

    “The character’s name is Mouse, not Rat.”

    “Whatever. Rat, Mouse, Hamster…it’s all the same. She’s annoying.”

    Spencer laughed, “Whatever you say, Ash. Whatever you say.”

     

     

                Later that night after all the spaghetti had been devoured and all the movies watched, Spencer lay wide awake next to a sleeping Ashley. It had been the brunette who suggested it wouldn’t be weird for them to sleep in the same bed. After all, they had done it for years both as friends and as lovers. And as she slept soundly now, her breathing soft and steady, perhaps she was right—at least in regards to herself. Spencer on the other hand was fighting a losing battle. There was no way she could sleep next to Ashley and have it mean nothing. She wasn’t in high school anymore. The word “sleepover” had a different meaning entirely. Her fingers were desperate to touch Ashley’s face, move the wayward strands of hair out of her face and make their way down. But she couldn’t. She had promised Ashley. One thing was making itself clear—being Ashley’s friend again was not going to be easy.

    1. Awwwww…that is story is so sad! Profound words lifted into the air through the wisdom of a movie, Spencer needs to capture the metaphor and take it to heart. Spencer fight for your girl, do whatever it takes, but don’t lose the love of your life to only friendship! I really do love this story. PMS

    2. Maybe it’s just me but it seems like Ashley’s testing Spencer somehow to see if she means what she says. Suggesting they sleep in the same bed? Sounds like a test to me. I’m proud of Spencer though for sticking to her word. Hopefully, it will help her earn Ashley back.

    4. i’m very torn with where i want this story to go. i want spencer and ashley to be together, because they are so in love even though they won’t admit it to each other. however, i want them to stay apart for a little bit longer because spencer should really take to heart what she did by ‘taking her time’ and pushing ashley away. either way, keep writing, and PMS, i cant wait to read more.
