    Spencer wakes up alone. The bird doesn’t make sense. Neither does this summary.

     

                Spencer woke up in her bed alone, her skin stiff from tears that had dried on its surface—the ones Ashley had missed. Ashley…Spencer knew there was a chance that she’d wake up alone, but she hadn’t anticipated how much it would hurt or how much she had hoped she had been wrong. She knew that words alone wouldn’t bring Ashley back to her. But they had to be said. It was time for her to start letting go, not just for herself but for the brunette who was still willing to hold her even after everything that had happened.

    “Good, you’re finally awake.”

    Spencer’s eyes quickly located the origin of the voice, finding its owner standing in the doorway of her room.

    “Ash…you’re here.”

    “Yeah, it’s still raining pretty hard. Plus I don’t have my car.”

    “That’s right. I forgot,” Spencer said, a little sad that Ashley hadn’t stayed on her own accord.

    “So…how are you?” Ashley asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed.

    “I’m ok. What about you? Are you ok?”

    “Yeah…actually I am. Last night was good. It needed to happen, you know? All the stuff you said…I’ve been waiting a long time to hear it.”

    “I’m sorry it took me so long.”

    “Whatever, everything’s out in the open now. We can move on.”

    “Yeah, you’re right,” Spencer said sadly, propping herself up against her pillow, “So, I can drive you to the bar whenever you want. I’m sure you want your car.”

    “It’s fine. I was thinking maybe we could spend the day together…it’s Sunday.”

    Spencer smiled widely, “Are you sure? I mean…”

    “I’m sure. Last night you offered to be my friend, right?”

    “Right, of course.”

    “Well, I want to take you up on that offer. I could use a friend these days.”

    Spencer nodded, “I’ll take what I can get.”

    “So, I was thinking movies…then, I don’t know. We can play it by ear if you want…see what happens.”

                Spencer shrugged, but her head was elsewhere. Years ago “playing it by ear” meant that Ashley would kiss every square inch of skin that Spencer had to offer before slowly moving her willing tongue to her girlfriend’s warm center. Spencer could still remember the first Sunday they ever spent together after Ashley moved in the apartment she used to share with Lindsay. Soon, all of the reminders of her previous relationship were replaced and just the sight of Ashley’s wet towel hanging on the rack in the tiny bathroom would send waves of warmth down Spencer’s body.

    1. Awwwww…that is story is so sad! Profound words lifted into the air through the wisdom of a movie, Spencer needs to capture the metaphor and take it to heart. Spencer fight for your girl, do whatever it takes, but don’t lose the love of your life to only friendship! I really do love this story. PMS

    2. Maybe it’s just me but it seems like Ashley’s testing Spencer somehow to see if she means what she says. Suggesting they sleep in the same bed? Sounds like a test to me. I’m proud of Spencer though for sticking to her word. Hopefully, it will help her earn Ashley back.

    3. hey so uh listen i love your stories i really really do but you know you could throw a random sex scene in at any time i wouldn’t mind (hint hint) like maybe a flash back or somethin. but no pressure. i would love that though. pleeeeaaaassee im begging here. but no pressure. man i sound like such a virgin dont i. oh and gret update.

    4. i’m very torn with where i want this story to go. i want spencer and ashley to be together, because they are so in love even though they won’t admit it to each other. however, i want them to stay apart for a little bit longer because spencer should really take to heart what she did by ‘taking her time’ and pushing ashley away. either way, keep writing, and PMS, i cant wait to read more.
