    My Best Friend’s Girlfriend

Spencer was in Ashley’s room reading a book.  Ashley went to her room and sat next to Spencer on the bed.  “Hey gorgeous,” Ashley said.  “I haven’t seen you in ages.”  Ashley kissed Spencer on her lips.

“Hey Ash,” said Spencer with a smile.  “You just saw me a few minutes ago before you went to get something to drink.”  Ashley chuckled.

“A few minutes ago to me translates to ages ago,” Ashley added.  “Do you have any plans for tonight, babe?  Major devastation if you let me down, Spence.”

“No, not that I can think of,” answered Spencer.  “No, I take that back.”  Ashley looked surprised.  “I’ll let you down easy, Ash.”

    “Why?” Ashley asked with curiosity.

“Here’s the thing,” began Spencer.  “I already have a date.”

“Should I be worried?” Ashley teased.

“I think I’m going to have a date with my English book since I’m having a hard time getting through the book without the need of wanting to burn it,” answered Spencer simply.  “Technically it’s not a date since the book is a snore fest, but you know what I mean.”  Spencer saw the dejected look on Ashley’s face.  “I suppose I could try to finish my homework now.  It could wait so I could spend time with my girlfriend.  What are your plans for us?”  Ashley smiled.

“If you still have a hard time with your homework, you could do it after our date or even tomorrow and I’ll even help you out,” Ashley stated.  “We could use a break from the madness every now and then.”

“Wow, you must really want go out with me tonight to offer me homework help,” observed Spencer.  “You hate English, but we do need a break from the madness.”

“Yes, but I love you though,” Ashley responded simply.  “Alright, so I was thinking you and I could go out to dinner.  Is that better than reading your boring book?”

“Much better actually,” responded Spencer with a smile.  “It sounds perfect in my book.  Anything we do together is perfect.”  Spencer softly pressed her lips against Ashley’s.

“You’re perfect,” Ashley corrected.  “There isn’t one thing I would want to change about you, Spencer Carlin.”

“I wouldn’t want to change anything about you either,” agreed Spencer with a smile.  Ashley rubbed her nose against Spencer’s.  Spencer cupped Ashley’s face.
