“God I’m stuffed” I said while holding my stomach and plopping down on the couch.

Spencer joined me on the couch and curled up in my lap. She looked at me like she had something to say, but to my surprise she let out a loud burp.

“That’s all I have to say about that.” She grinned at me.

“Damn, for such a small girl you really can really burp.” I told her still in amazement and she chuckled.

“I grew up with two brother’s Ash, it’s expected.”

At the mention of her brother’s I just remembered the family dinner Spencer and I will be attending this Sunday evening. I know she’s a little nervous to meet the parents, but I’m certain they’ll just love her to bits. My Dad, Raife, is the chillest guy you’ll ever meet and my Mom, Christine, will just be ecstatic to know I’ve found the right girl, because honestly -as far as relationships go- I think she gave up on me a long time ago.

“Spence, don’t forget we have my family dinner to go to tomorrow.”

And to my expectations, I felt my girlfriend’s body tense in my arms. Yes, it’s obvious she was uncomfortable at the mention of family. I appreciated that she gave me her best fake smile though, because at least that shows she’d go out of her comfort zone to make me happy.

“Spencer I know what you’re thinking and for the last time hun, they are going to love you. Now how many times do I need to tell you that before you’ll believe me?”

Spencer shrugged her shoulders and I felt her relax back into my embrace.

“Alright Ash” She left it at that, but I still wasn’t convinced. “So is Kyla gonna bring Max?”

“Wait, you know Kyla?” I blurted out.

“Mhm. We have a class together at UCLA.”

“Small world… and yes Kyla and Max will be there, so don’t worry about being put on the hot seat or anything.” I said trying to lighten things up.

“I’m not too worried. As long as you’re there I’ll be fine.”

Spencer and I spent the rest of the day lying around her apartment watching movies, eating plenty of food, and, of course, fooling around a little. I was going to spend the night again, but I ended up leaving around ten-thirty because I hadn’t been home in over two days.
