“What was that?” Emmet asked, curiously, but I couldn’t help but sense a hint of concern in his emotions that was also laced around his curiosity, though well masked, he couldn’t fool me.

“We’ll investigate,” Alice offered as she made a grasp for my hand and we dashed out the door.

Surely nothing had happened? Edward had seemed well under control when he had been holding her just moments ago; he wouldn’t just, suddenly, loose it, right?

Alice wrapped the door with knocks as I tersely struggled to sort out the feelings emanating through Edward’s closed door towards me.

“Come in,” Edward relented with laughter in his tone and Alice, without having to be told twice, did as told, opened the door and danced her way to the center of the room while I stayed back by the door gazing at the scene before me with interest.

“We came to investigate,” Alice announced shamelessly, by her tone and emotions I could tell she was smiling, smugly at that.

One thing I learned, Bella blushes easily, with almost no effort, and that does not help my predicament because each time she blushes her blood boils in the most alluring way that just makes me want to loose control and I know I mustn’t. As such, I must try to stay away, I wouldn’t want to suffer my brothers wrath, not that we are not an even match but because he is my brother… and I love him and I wouldn’t want to be the one to make him sad by taking his new found reason for living away from him, wouldn’t want anyone for that matter to take his happiness away from him. Not as long as I have the strength to fight it.

Edward is my brother and I like to see him happy, if seeing him happy means that I’ve got to be very careful around this Bella, so be it. Thank you, Bella, for coming into his life… someday, I’ll be able to tell you this, face to face, for now I’ll watch over the both of you and make sure that no harm comes to either of you. My Alice, my Goddess likes you, so that’s good enough a reason for me to like you. And so, until I can express my ‘thank you’ keep making Edward happy, you are family now; you are our sister and Edward’s girl… that’s funny, there’s- Nah, it couldn’t be possible, anyway Bella, you are now a part of the Cullen’s clan.
