    Spencer’s many lessons

    Spencer: “Getting trapped in a sex toy shop isn’t the worst punishment in the world though.” I whisper to Ashley who nods enthusiastically back.

    I’ve never actually been to a sex toy shop. There was one on the edge of town back in Ohio and when I was younger my friends and I, when I had friends, use to sit outside it and call out things to the men who would go inside, trying to embarrass them. When I was old enough to understand how awesome these places could be, however, I was already the outcast of my town and too afraid to approach it.

    When I walked into Some Assembly Required, I was not disappointed. The place was deceivingly huge with deep reds and dark pinks decorating the walls and carpet. The floor mat, just inside the door, read ‘welcum’ and was shaped like a penis. That wasn’t exactly pleasant, but I guess it would be humorous if you’re into that sort of thing.

    Then, out of nowhere, Sara is in front of me with a huge smile on her face.

    Sara: “Are you ready, Spencer?!” I turn to look to Ashley, maybe to share an eye-roll or a quick getaway, but she’s already on the other side of the store with her hands up silently telling me that I was on my own. I stare back at her, mouth wide open with a look of astonishment on my face. How could she leave me to fend for myself with Sara in a sex toy shop?!
