Spencer’s POV

It’s Friday! Tonight is the noght of the Back-to-School Dance. After school, I’m going over to Kyla’s to get ready with Kyla and Ashley. I bet Ashley’s going to look gorgeous.God, I really like this girl

"Hey Spencer guess what!" Kyla ran over to me with a cheerful smile on her face

"What?"

"Tonight at the dance, Ashley and her band are performing the song for the last dance!"

"Really? That’s awesome! What song is it?"

"I don’t know she wouldn’t tell me. Oh, well, I guess we’ll find out tonight. You still coming over to get ready?"

"Yep!"

"Great, well I gotta head to class. See ya at lunch!"

"See ya." I didn’t know that Ashley was in a band…

Kyla’s POV

I can’t believe Spencer has a crush on Ashley! They would be so cute together! But Ashley’s so thick, she would never guess that Spencer liked her unless Spencer stood on a rooftop yelling "I LOVE ASHLEY DAVIES!" And it’s so obvious too. The way Spencer stares at her, the way her face gets red whenever Ashley’s in the same room, the way she laughs at Ashley’s (very lame) jokes like they’re the funniest things she’s ever heard. Things are going to get interesting tonight! You should’ve saw the look on Spencer’s face when I told her about Ashley and her band. She had the biggest smile!

I’m so excited, I’m sitting in English, my last class of the day, and in a few minutes, school would be over and Spencer’s soming home with me and we’re going back to my house to get ready for the dance!

RRRIIIINNNNNGGGGYES!!!!

I quickly gather up my books and head out the door. As soon as I get out I go looking for Spencer. There she is!

"Hey, you ready to go?" I ask with a big smile

"Yeah, is Ashley here yet?"

"Wouldn’t you like to know" I say as I wink at her

"Shut up!" She playfully yells

"No, she’s not here yet, King doesn’t get out for anothe 10 minutes."

"Oh, yeah, my brothers go to King."

"Really?"

"Yeah, but Glen’s a year younger than Ashley, and Clay’s a year older."

"Clay? Clay Carlin?"

"Yeah, you know him?"

"Well, I don’t know him but he’s in Ashley’s algebra class, she says the guys a frickin’ genious!"

"Yeah you could say that."

"Haha…soo, Spencer?"

"Yeah?"

"Why excactly do you like Ashley?"

"Well, she’s incredibly nice, like one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She’s smart, funny….beautiful….hot!"

"Haha…I get it…you really like her, don’t you?"

"I guess so."

"Then go for it!"

"I don’t know, wouldn’t a girl like Ashley have tons of girls going afetr her?"

"Believe it or not, no."

"What?"

"Well the truth is that Ashley is kind of a nerd."

"Really?"

"Yeah… and plus I have this sneaking suspicion that Ashley likes you too."

"Are you serious?!?!"

"Calm down, yeah, and I hope you know that I totally saw that stare down between you two when I was making popcorn in the kitchen."

"You did?"

"Sure did. And Ashley has never looked at any girl the way she was looking at you" After I said this I saw a slight blush on Spencer’s face

Just then, Ashley pulled up in her porsche right in front of the table that Spencer and I were sitting at.

"Hey Ky, hey Spencer. You guys ready to go?"

"Yeah, what took you so long?" I asked her

"Um, its 3 o’clock, in LA, can you say rush hour!"

"Oh, yeah, sorry blonde moment."

"Kyla, you get more blonde moments than an actual blonde does!" And when Ashley said this I heard Spencer giggle in the backseat. Spencer has a special giggle that she only does when Ashley’s around. I call it the Ashlaugh.

Ashley’s POV

I’m so excited for the dance tonight! I can’t believe me and my band get to perform the last song! So anyway, right now, I’m taking Kyla and Spencer home and we’re all getting ready together. Spencer is the only one of Kyla’s friends that I actually like. All of Kyla’s old friends were shallow and every other word they said was "like". But Spencer is down-to-earth and she has an actual vocabulary.
