Today is Friday, a week away from the big dance that Kyla was talking about and I must say that I’m kinda excited. I’ve always loved dances. The music, the decorations, the dancing, the food! I love it all! Right now Kyla and I are walking to our class talking about everything and anything. I’m surprised at how fast we became friends. I’ve only known her for a couple of days but it feels like I’ve known her my whole life.

"Hey, Spence, I was wondering if maybe tonight you wanted to stay over at my house, we could watch movies paint each other’s nails and talk about our feelings. Just kidding haha. But do you want to?"

"Yeah that sounds great, I gotta ask my parents, let me call them real quick."

"okay."

When I called my dad he said that its fine but that he wanted to meet Kyla first. I love my dad, he’s always been so accepting of me that I’m gay. My mom, on the other hand, had a little trouble accepting it at first but now she’s okay with it.

"Hey Kyla, my dad said that it’s fine but he wants to meet you first, so do you want to come over for a little bit after school and then we can go over to your house."

"Yeah sounds great. My sister is picking me up today so I’ll have her bring me over."

"Cool."

"Well I better get heading to class but I’ll stop over after school anf then my sister can take us back to my house. Bye Spencer.

"See ya, Ky."

YAY! I’m so excited to go over to Kyla’s tonight! I hope my parents don’t embarass me tonight when she comes over!!

YAY! Spencer’s coming over. I can’t believe that I’ve only known her a few days and yet it feels like I’ve known her forever and could tell her anything.

It’s just so weird that the first girl that I met when I got back to school happened to be gay, especially that Ashley just came out at the end of the summer…creepy…
