I Could Never Forget About You – (Chapter: The meeting)

“Hey…” She’s still shocked I can tell. Hell I would be too if I were in her position. “What um… What are you doing here?” She asks not in a mean way that many would perceive, but  general wondering.

“Oh, um…I always come here on Saturdays.” What? I’m nervous sue me, she doesn’t know I’m lying so why not?

“Really? I’ve never seen you here before.” Yeah well, it’s a big park. I send her a smile, and a shrug hopefully dropping the subject. “So um…how…how are you?” She stammers.

“Good, great you?” All of a sudden everything I wanted to say, everything I needed to say is forgotten.

“Wonderful.” She replies, lightening the conversation.

                    “Good.”

“Yep.” This conversation is headed nowhere fast. Before either of us can say anything the little girl tugs on the hem of Ashley’s shirt, much like she did with my pants.

“Yeah sweetie?” She leans down so her face is level with the little girls. I wish I knew what was going on, because now she’s whispering in Ashley’s ear…I can’t help but feel jealous, that used to me doing that.

“Right sorry,” Ashley says to the little girl. “Spencer this is Shelly, Shelly this is…Spencer.” She introduces us, making her way back so she’s directly in front of me.

“Hi!” Shelly yells sticking out her hand very maturely. Suddenly something hits me, who exactly is she?

“Oh. My. God is this your…” I leave the sentence hanging, hoping I wouldn’t have to say it aloud, because then it will become real.

                    “What?” She asks confused.

“Is she your?” I make all these kinds of weird hand gestures hoping I complete the sentence without actually speaking.

“What?” Give it a second… “Oh! No,no,no,no…Oh god no, she my niece.” She lets out a nervous chuckle. At least I know I’m not the only nervous one here. Wait a minute she doesn’t have siblings.

“Your niece? I thought you didn’t have any siblings.” I voice my thoughts.

“Oh, So did I until a couple years ago…” What? Care to explain?
