I Could Never Forget About You – (Chapter: Pancakes)

“Aw, so sweet.” She replies sarcastically, pushing her empty coffee mug to the side.

“Right?” I take a sip of whatever’s left of my water.

                    “Whatever…so…does Aiden know?” She asks.

    Good question.

“Probably, I mean…not from me…she probably told him.” I reply.

                    “Oh.”

“Yeah…” Okay, like all other conversations I have, we’ve reached a roadblock.

“When are you seeing her again?” Never mind, she keeps the conversation going.

“I don’t know, but she’s calling me tonight.” And time can’t go any slower. All I ever want to do is hear her voice, or see her…I mean I’ll take anything that has to do with Ashley.

“Phone Sex?” I think I just spit my water out. I hope I got her face.

“Madison!” I exclaim, blush immediately spreading through my cheeks.

“Just a question…geez.” Who asks that?

“Don’t ever…ever ask me that again.” I say still scarred.

“Oh you love it.” She smiles.

“No, I really don’t.” I chuckle. You got to give it to her, she never makes a conversation boring.

“Oh! Guess what!” She practically jumps off her stool, which in turn scares the shit out of me.

“What?” I whisper, still regaining composure.

“I met this guy.” Like I care.

                    “Shocker.”

                    “Shut up.”

                    “Sorry, carry on.” I smile.

“Okay I met this guy…” I thought we got past that part.

                    “And?” I push.

“And, he’s cute.”  Is this conversation seriously happening?

                    “And?”

                    “And, I like him…”

“Madison, is this little story going somewhere?” I ask impatiently.

“Nope, just wanted to talk about myself for a little bit.” A smug smile resides on her face.

“I should’ve known.” Really, out of all the years I’ve known her I definitely should’ve known.

“I know; seriously Spence, how long have we been living together?” Too long.

                    “Um…”

“Long enough Spencer.” Good, you think so too.

                    “Okay and?” I ask.

“And you still don’t know I need attention.” She replies, making her way to the couch in the next room.

“Oh God.” I let myself laugh before I join her.

I can’t wait till I get my phone call.

    Good? Bad?
