"Oh my god! I’m so sorry I put my feet up. You’re mom just said to make myself at home and I figured-," babbled the extremely flustered blond before the elder Davies daughter could cut her off.

"I didn’t mean to scare you. Sorry about that. Do you always mutter incoherently when you’re nervous?" Ashley asked while a small smile played upon her lips.

"Yeah, sorry, I can’t really help it. I’m Spencer by the way. Spencer Carlin," Spencer sweetly introduced.

"Ashley Davies," the brunette responded while extending her hand. "You never answered my question. I don’t mean to be rude, but what are you doing in my house?"

"Oh, right, I’m here to have lunch with Kyla, who I’m guessing is your sister?"

Ashley eyes glazed over with malice before she quietly stated, "As a matter of fact she is, but we’re not exactly on the best of terms. I don’t mean to get personal with you, but my sister and I don’t just dislike each other as normal siblings would. We honestly harbor only pure contempt for one another."

"That’s too bad…"

"Yeah, well, it’s what we’re used to and we’re okay with that. The bitch should be coming down any minute now, but listen Spence, if you ever want to hang out with the much cooler, much sexier, and much all around better Davies, then my door’s open."

"Hmm, I might take you up on that," Spencer replied, astonished that she had met two potential friends in a single afternoon.

"Great, I sincerely hope you don’t shoot yourself from boredom before the afternoon’s over. Kyla tends to talk about herself – ALOT."

"I’m sure I’ll be fine. It seems like egocentricity runs in the family, huh?" Spencer said with a mischievous grin covering her face.

"Ouch Carlin! That hurt! But I think I’ll forgive you just this once. What can I say, I have a thing for cute blondes."

"Uh…"

"You are definitely going to be a fun one…" Ashley called over her shoulder as she walked away.

Neither girl realized it at that moment, but they had both just fallen in love. It might seem odd that were in love even though their attraction had yet to manifest itself, but the truth was, it didn’t take much. They were both in love and it wouldn’t be long before the truth revealed itself.
