Good Morning Heartache – (Chapter: But she’s so pretty and I don’t mind)

Three years goes by fast if you try hard enough to forget. I remember when I first came here, to NYC. My first attempt to move on. Well, not really, actually. I never really tried to move on until I met Sophia. We met on a gig, Panic! At the disco was playing at fifth avenue and I was in desperate need for something or someone who could fill my emptiness, if only for a while. I had probably lived her for about a year, more or less, and we both ended up there, looking for the same thing.

    Comfort.

She reminded me so much about Spencer. I think that was the first thing that came to my mind that night when I spotted her in the club. That’s probably why I started talking to her in the first place. I watched her from afar when the band started playing. She was standing outside, leaning against the brick wall. The blonde hair caressing her bare shoulders, biting her lip she met my gaze for about a split second. Green eyes that held the touch of a thousand shades of summer turned away.

Holding a cigarette she moved her left hand up to meet her luscious lips and took a drag for what seemed an eternity. While blowing out the smoke she met my gaze again. I couldn’t help myself for staring.

I was intrigued. I was caught. But most of all I was drunk and in need. To feel something. Someone. Anything. And those nature green eyes that kept pouring long lost memories all over me was now telling me that the feeling was mutual.

Seeing that I started smoking almost immediately after moving here, I decided to join her.

Slowly I moved towards the beautiful girl standing only meters away, smoking her cigarette like it was her last. Enjoying every moment. Seizing every second of the poison reaching her lungs. The band had already started playing but for some reason I had this feeling that neither of us were heading in any time soon.

She could feel how I was heading towards her, you could see her body tense up with every step I took, and I still remember seeing through the blonde hair that vainly tried to cover her face while she was looking down, how she was biting at her lip again.
