“This is a church planet ma’am. We don’t take lightly to cursing around here.”
Right. Sure.
“Sorry” Ashley apologized. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
“Do that.” Turning on his feet in one neat movement, the official strode off, leaving Ashley holding her logs and thanking some nether god that she was damn good at faking the lot of them. Shrugging, she opened the door back up and threw the logs in, closed the door, locked it, and walked off down the landing docks to the building ahead.

Spencer shrugged into her blue jacket and stepped through the doors of the hospital. For once clinic had finished early. They had limited patients and they were all stable. For once in her blessed life she was stepping through these doors while the sun still shone and there was movement in the air. She breathed in the fresh scent flying from the hills and moved down the front steps. Half an afternoon in front of her, what a gift.
She moved towards the plaza, reveling in the way the sun glinted off the stained glass windows of the temple and filtered through the air like the rays of god himself. Spencer’s stomach filled with the warm feeling she always got towards the church. They could be binding, it was true, and a little old fashioned, but it was one of the places of her childhood. The years spent happy with her family and friends. The one honest thing in her heart that always rang true.
She spent some quiet moments in the arbour by the small lake. She knew it was artificial, but it still teemed with life and glistened blue against the teal and evergreen mountains. When they’d terraformed this land, they’d done a stunning job, and the church worked hard to keep it that way. Whatever people said about the church, they formed strong, functional communities that thrived. Spencer knew she was lucky to be part of one. Even if, on occasion, it was a tad boring. And even if, on occasion, your dates were somewhat… lacklustre.
Was that what was bothering her? Her date last night. Dinner had been pleasant. Pleasant enough anyway. Thom was always good for conversation, and he could speak at length about many topics. Ok, so most of them were boring scientific and medical theses that even Spencer found a little dry, but he was a fountain of knowledge. Spencer sighed. She should just get over this. She could always let Thom down gently, it’s not like they were in a committed, strong relationship. And that would pretty much take care of any prospects left on the planet. Here’s hoping for another migration.

Awesome. A great update and I can’t wait until they actually meet. They seem to be polar opposites and that has got to make for some interesting chemistry. :) Love ya. Post more soon please!

Oh, and one more thing, the whore planet of babylon or what not? Wow. That is funny. And I don’t watch firefly so I’ll prolly have no idea what you are talking about. :)
Ah this is exciting. Clom has a new story! :) Yeah, I commented on the last post, but that fact that you’re going to keep it going is pretty awesome. :]
oh baby. i’m so excited for when they meet! i think you’ve got yourself a winner with this one!…but seriously clom…just because this story rocks doesn’t mean that you can forget about 28 days – you’ve been leaving us hanging for quite some time. :) but i really do love this story so keep posting this one too!
ok, cursing, that cracked me up to no extent PRICELESS, and locking it? im surprised the lock actually works. haha “Otherwise, she’d just drift through space until her air ran out. And she’d die. Gee, there was a pleasant thought” hahah sounds like something i would think and for some unknown reason those two sentences has brought me a fit of giggles. “r. This was turning out to be so much better than she’d hoped. For a moment, Ashley wondered if sarcasm could be fatal.” again another fit of giggles, and i must say one of my fav words is fatal, and its also a nick name. ok im done quoting lines from your story, but i must add you won me over from the first story, i absolutley love this. keep them coming, feed my fast growing addiction :]
YAY loving it… and like everyone else I can’t wait for the two to meet! sweet church girl spence and the wild space roamer… sounds like fun… also I noticed you also have the girls skipping rocks in 28 days and now here…LOL

You know I started reading this and I was momentarily confused…it seemed like you kinda jumped into it. So I back tracked a bit and realized that this was in fact the second chapter! How did I miss that?!! Great job…it is going to be interesting when they meet. Can’t wait! Post more! :-)

haha it was so funny at the start when ash locks the door and something falls out and leave a swirl of dust. i was totally imagining it. how awesome that you’re starting and updating a new fic at high speed after just completing a grand epic!!! but uhh there’s something i wanna ask ya… as any good stalker should ask.. have you forgotten all about 28days???
