Famous – (Chapter: 6: The one with the test)

    “Nothing why?” Spencer frowned.

“Bug? toothpaste? How many days have you been sick now?” Paula sighed.

”three or four, ill go to the doctors tomorrow morning before school and get some antibiotics or something” Spencer sighed, she loved that her mother still cared but at 26 she was wishing she would just drop it and let her get on with things.

“I don’t think antibiotics are going to help you” Paula smiled.

“What do you mean?” Spencer asked noticing her mothers smile and wondering what was going on in her warped mind.

“Spence, have you had your period yet?” Paula asked carefully.

“Erm, Eww mum why are we talking about that?” Spencer frowned.

“Spencer…. Think about it, you’ve been sick the last three or four mornings, that would also be known as morning sickness” Paula beamed at her own cleverness.

“Well now you mention it I am a week late, but we haven’t done the treatment for nearly two months, and unless ash is holding out on my big time, I don’t think there is much chance, do you?” Spencer smiled lovingly at her mother, now she knew she hadn’t lost the plot completely.

“Ok but it can’t hurt to do a test and make sure though, right?” Paula asked, she knew Spencer didn’t like her interfering but she longed she much for a grandchild she would hang onto even the thinnest glimmer of hope, she had spent the past year praying and praying by some freak accident Spencer or Ashley would end up pregnant, then she found out about the IVF and had prayed morning and night that it would be successful.

“Ok, if it will make you happy, I will take a test; just don’t get your hopes up ok?” Spencer sighed.

Paula bee lined to a drawer and retrieved a home pregnancy test, smiling she handed it to Spencer who stood awestruck.

”mum, why do you have pregnancy tests in your drawer, please tell you me you and dad aren’t……” She trailed off cringing at just the suggestion of it.

“… of course not! When you told me you and Ashley were trying, I got a couple in just incase, not laughing at me being so prepared now are you missy” Paula smiled.
