    *****Spencer’s POV Still*****

It had seemed like an hour drive when in actuality it was less than five minutes. They rushed her away from me. I tried to go with them, but they told me to stay in the waiting room. After approximately three minutes, which was way too long, a doctor came out to speak to me. She led me into a room and shut the door. Was this how the doctors gave us bad news? Suddenly, my mind began to race in every direction as I wondered what had happened.

The doctor must have seen my expression because she placed a hand on my shoulder to calm me. “Relax; I just need to ask you a few questions.” Her voice was gentle. I didn’t calm down though. I grabbed coffee from the coffee pot set up in the room and began to drink it as I sat down. If I needed anything this moment, it was a cigarette, but that meant going outside. I wouldn’t be reachable. I wouldn’t leave. Let the questions begin.

“What was happening at the time the convulsions began?” The doctor asked me. I looked at her with a blush.

    “We were um…you know…like…”

“I understand” She said with a slight laugh. She wasn’t laughing AT us; she was just trying to rid the room of the tension. I took a sip of my coffee. “Has Miss Davies experienced anything traumatic in the past few days?”

I paused and thought. Nothing traumatic… well obviously something had happened but I didn’t know for sure what it was. So I silently shook my head. The doctor eyed me wearily.

“Okay, Miss Davies continues to shout words or phrases such as, ‘he’s dead’ or ‘it’s my fault’. Do you know what those phrases are about?” I thought about what Ashley had said earlier, and the blood I had seen behind her ear. If she was in some kind of trouble, I needed to know. But I couldn’t tell that to the doctor.

“Um, a friend of hers died in a car accident. He was drunk and she has been blaming herself.” I lied well. I was proud of myself.
