    I wasn’t excited because now that she did, it meant I had to do my best to protect her…

    Aiden: Ouch! That hurt.

    I smiled and he rubed his arm.

    Ashley: Good. But yea it kind of is unreal but only because I get to spend the rest of my life with that girl. How I kept her for this long is beyond me, what with all my fuck ups and such.

    I stated and we both laughed. We got to my car and I unlocked it.

    Aiden: Yea I was a little surprised too but I guess if you really love someone all that stuff doesn’t matter.

    He said and I saw the flash of sadness in his eyes. I put my hand on his shoulder and rubbed it lightly.

    Ashley: And hows it going with you bud?  

    I asked concerned and he looked up at me, smiling weakly.

    Aiden: Its going ok I guess, it could totally be better but I’m not complaining.

    He said and I smiled.

    Ashley: Why can’t you just tell her that you love her and that you want to be with her?

    I asked him. He knew exactly who I was talking about.   

    Aiden: Because Ashley, its not that easy.

    I scoffed.

    Ashley: It could be. You’re just making it harder than it has to be. My advice to you, is to tell her how you feel. You just might be surprised at the outcome.

    I said smiling and his face lit up.

    Aiden: What? Did she say something about me? What do you know Ashley?

    I laughed and opened the door to my car.

    Ashley: I plead the fifth.

    I said laughing.

    Aiden: Yea you suck and badly.

    He said laughing.

    Ashley: Well Aid, I have to get going home to my soon to be wife.

    I said. He shook his head ok and gave me a hug.

    Aiden: You and Spencer be safe ok Davies?

    I shook my head.

    Ashley: Will do and the same goes for you. And tell her Aiden.

    I said slipping into the driver’s side of my car.

    Aiden: Ill try. Ill call you later ok?

    He said.

    Ashley: Ok then.

    I said and he closed my car door, going back towards the precinct. I sat in my car for a minute before I started the engine. Today was an overwhelming day and I wanted nothing than to go home and spend the rest of it cuddled up with Spencer. I started my engine and sped all the way home, anticipating my cuddling time with my wife…I loved saying that now.
