A Typical Teenage Mind – (Chapter: Two)
They go over to their usual table. She finds me, she found me the second she walks through the door, but this time I don’t stare into her eyes. I check her out, I’m so turned on by the way she looks tonight that it’s not even funny. And she blushes, she doesn’t even try to hide it as I find her eyes again. They are darker, more intense, and that is just adding a whole lot of fuel to the fire.
Less than a second after sitting down she whispers into his ear. Telling him something, not private. Not one bit. They don’t share those kinds of moments. And she doesn’t want to. Aiden is oblivious of course, as is everyone else. Everyone thinks they are so in love. Yet I know she can’t stand being with him.
She gets up, she is coming to the bar. What is she thinking? Why have things suddenly changed?
She leans her elbows on the counter, the way her body is at this minute it heavenly, so relaxed, so herself. No fake image she has to up hold. And I couldn’t stop staring at her even if I tried.
She’s looking at me out of the corner of her eye. Keeping what we have. “Spencer, it’s not like you to come up to the bar.” Kat, my saviour, saying the thing I want to say, but she knows I can’t, not until Spencer makes the first move.
“Yeah I’m going to have something different today; Aiden would get it wrapped around his neck.” She chuckles. That voice, that laugh. Angel sent down to bless us all.
“Ok what are you having?”
The only time she takes her eyes off of mine as she looks down to my drink. “JD and coke.” She smirks, before looking back up into my eyes. Something is definitely going on with her. She’s never this forward.
My mouth opens slightly out of shock and I see her smirk grow wider. We have never been this close. Our shoulders are nearly touching. Kat brings her drink and places it in front of her, yet she never moves. It’s just like at school, she doesn’t want it to end. And there is no bell to end it.
