Sandra McLane Of The Secret Service
Despite being back in Washington, D.C., her mind continues to venture back to Gotham City. Talking with Commissioner Gordon and Detective Montoya about Gotham City’s coming war. The phone call that interrupted, leading to a television being turned on nearby to see the aftermath of the Amazing Flying Graysons tragedy. At her desk, Sandra does her best piece everything together. How does it all connect? How do the deaths of John and Mary Grayson connect to the war that is upon Gotham City? How does it connect to Vicki Vale’s kidnapping and rescue by the vigilante known as Batgirl? How does it connect to the Tigress? Somehow, there appears to be a connection to a Gotham City man named Oswald Cobblepott, a man nickname by the locals as “Penguin” for his unusual walk and occasional muttering.
On her computer, Sandra continues looking at the same account figures. She continues studying the connection that has to be in there somewhere. Sandra’s eyes suddenly widen. Feverishly typing away, she begins tracking down different information in hopes of a match. Photos of various people appear on her screen as she clicks on their names for the information she now searches for.
Cobblepott has been moving money offshore. Somewhere in the recesses of this money, someone else has to be benefiting from the move. It all leads to a bank in the tiny Northern European nation of Gavonia. It is a nation whose reputation has been built on neutrality. It is a nation where people can invest when Switzerland may be considered too obvious to attempt. American investors in Gavonia are gathered on a list. Sandra has a theory, and it just may connect the Penguin to the Tigress.
The question remains of who the Tigress is. The kingdom of Gavonia can be tricky to deal with, but Sandra is about to make her plea to the higher ups for a trip to Europe.
Betty Drake
So much has been invested in this moment. So much work and effort. So much scrutiny, from herself, the media, and the government throughout the process. Now, it was to finally pay off. Taking off from her private air base in Arizona, Betty Drake is ready to make history. The term “Space Program” had become such a generic one over the years. Whether it was public or private, Betty knew she was not alone in the search for what is truly out there. The emergence of Superwoman and these amazing heroes protecting the world had hastened things.
