– Okay students. For tomorrow I’ll need you to bring me another essay about the topic we discussed today. It has to have at least 25 pages so if I were you I would start it as soon as possible. As last time and as it is going to be the whole semester, remember that you have to work with your partners. See you tomorrow.

Carmen now was nervous about the task. She didn’t want to push Shane that much but she also knew she couldn’t do this alone.

To her luck was Shane the first to talk.

“Are you doing something after school?” the words came suddenly and Shane was surprised herself. “I mean… we can meet to do this for tomorrow. I don’t have to work today so… ”.

– uhm… I have to work from 3 to 8, I’m free after that. I don’t know if you have time that later…

Shane though about the concert and what would the gang say if she missed it but then thought about Carmen’s situation and decided it should be prioritized.

– Sure, I’m free. Do you want me to go to your place or-

– No, no. Your place is good. I mean, if you don’t mind. I work near your house so I can just go after I finish.

– Great. I’ll order something for dinner and we can do it later.

– That sounds great. And… thank you Shane. I really  apreciate this.

– Sure, no big deal. So… see you later then?          

– Yeah, see you later Shane.

Shane loved how Carmen could say something like that without sounding dirty. Again she wasn’t used to that and, again, it was great.

After school she told the gang that she wouldn’t make it to the concert. She said she had to work overtime and that she would make it up another time. The girls were annoyed but hey, work was work.

Later that night Shane was watching some tv while waiting for Carmen. She brought the food and seted the table, even she was impressed by her own behavior.  She hadn’t done that since… well since a while now.
