A Searching for the Truth

Six months later

Bette and Tina were in a routine now. Bette and Tina were now both working. Since Bette was working Tina also decided to go back to work. Since their ship was close enough to Earth Tina would beam to work and back every single day.  Bette would stay home with the children from Monday to Wednesday and Tina Thursday through Saturday while both stayed home on Sunday. However sometimes Bette would have to work over or go to another planet and Tina took over watching their children. It was an adjustment to have Bette away at times but Tina promised that she would not complain if Bette was not gone longer than two to three days.

Thursday

Bette and her detective partner were on the trail of a ship reported to be floating aimlessly in Plutaran air space without lights. Bette and her partner were driving the Sunbelt Blue ship. Bette handled the controls. Bette spoke in a daily recording microphone. This was in case she and her partner disappeared or could not be found.

Bette: Steadily approaching. Flashing beams lights to communicate. No response. Attempting to hail the ship.

Samantha hailed the ship.

Samantha: This is Detective Samantha LeBlanc of Plutara. Please communicate your destination.

Bette: No Response

They repeated each step again and obtained no response from the ship.

Bette: My partner Samantha and I are going to attempt to beam abroad the ship.

Bette: Lasers on high alert.

In unison: Energize

They were able to beam abroad the ship. The ship was silent. Infact the ship was too quiet.

Bette walked ahead of Samantha and Samantha walked two feet behind Bette.

Samantha with her laser raised motioned to Bette that she would go to the left.

Bette stayed to the right. The two searched all the rooms of the ship and found nothing. However just when they were about to leave they heard the sound of a baby crying. They looked at eachother trying to pinpoint where the sound was coming from. It sounded like it was coming from below the ship.

The keen hearing of the two Plutarans picked up that the sound was coming from the kitchen.

They entered the kitchen. Bette bent down and knocked on the tiles of the floor and found loose pieces of tiles. She and her partner quickly began to remove the tiles. After removing the tiles they removed the metal door over the floor. They were shocked to see what was below.
