    Tina packs. Bette begs.


    Previously:

    “Well that’s just like you, isn’t it Tina?  To spend the whole night flirting with somebody and making them believe that you want them, but the next day pretending that it never happened?  Just find somebody new?”

    “Oh yeah, that’s me, Bette,” Tina answered sarcastically.  “Is this a fucking joke?  What the hell is going on with you tonight?”  This was more of a demand than a sincere question.  Not only were Tina’s feelings hurt, but she was also offended.

    “Me?  I’m not the one who was all over some random chick that my friends hooked me up with!” Bette slurred.

    “You told me to let them hook me up!”

     

    Bette continued to glare at her.  “You should have never even moved here, Tina.  All you’ve done is make my life harder for me.”

    “Don’t worry,” Tina said.  “I’ll be out of your hair by morning.”

    When Tina awoke the next morning, her head was pounding from the strain of crying so tirelessly the night before.  Her eyes were red and raw; her cheeks were chapped.  She sat up and found Shane, asleep in a chair near the bed. 

    When Shane heard the rustling of the sheets she was up in an instant, in the way that you are always semi-conscious when looking after someone else.  She rub her eyes with the heels of her hands.

    “How are you feeling?” she asked, getting up to sit on the edge of the bed beside Tina.

    It only took Tina an instant to start crying again; an instant to remember why she was at Shane’s in the first place.  Shane pulled her into a hug.  She wasn’t exactly clear about what had transpired between Bette and Tina the night before, but she had heard the shouting.  When she heard the knock on the door, she was already expected it – she just didn’t know which one of them it would be. 

    Tina felt even more devastated in the light of day.  She had grown irrevocably close to Bette over the last few months.  Not only did they share a home, but they also confided in each other.  Took care of each other.  Bette’s words had cut like a knife.

    1. All right you two…somebody’s gonna have to “put it out there”. Just say it will make you feel better! I love this story..as much as it frustrates me sometime. PPS!

    3. I hope Bette finds her lost words right quick. Tears won’t help – but explaining will. What is Tina supposed to think? Bette good as kicked her out of the house. Please help them, atlas. :-) Thanks for the new chapter!

    4. Dam why is that these two have such difficulty speaking to each other….Come on…NOW Bette stop her…another chapter Please……quick before Tina leaves….

    15. Oh, that didn’t go so well, did it? Bette’s wretched in her sorrow, but she’s got to start grovelling, and start speaking from her heart. At least Tina let her know that she’s going to be next door. She could have left without a word. It’s going to be hard, but maybe Bette can start making it up to Tina. Thanks for posting atlas, more when you can please. Cheers
