All the Fallen ~ Chapter 23 ~ Storms

Lara watched Susan walk away with that familiar hip sway that used to set her on fire, even when she was chasing the dragon.  What she was feeling was inexplicable.

                Regret.

                And longing.

How could she still feel anything for Susan?  After all the things she’d done to her.  Using heroin to hold her, not once, but twice?  She’d gone through hell getting clean, the second time much worse than the first.  And still, there was this tug, as though they had some connection that transcended all the sickness of that relationship.  If it had even been a relationship at all?  It had been, on the oddest of levels, it had been and that left Lara with something cold wrapped around her heart.

Susan had changed, not in a drastic manner, but something subtle, under the skin had shifted, changed, moved.  There was no doubt about it.  Her sexual proclivities hadn’t, but that was never the issue between them.  At times, being taken by Susan was the most intensely pleasurable sex Lara had ever experienced.  And she still had that sexual power, the ability to simply walk into a room and be wanted by everyone around her.  But there was something else now, some touch of humanity that could she say it had never been there?  If not, why would she still have any feelings at all for the Domme?  No, it must have always been there, sublimated to Susan’s need for power and control.  It was rising to the surface now and, in a way, it made her even more irresistible than ever.

Especially to someone like Doyle who didn’t seem to need to be taken, she was willing.  Lara watched them now as Susan approached, Doyle’s eyes sparking, a faint smile on her lips, the desire plain on her beautiful face.  She spun on her heel and walked away, refusing to rub any more salt in her own wounds.

Amy hung back for a moment, watching the red head leaving the hallway, heading back to the buffet.  She felt a soft peppering pounding in the back of her skull.  She felt it shimmering and she leaned up against the wall.
