Chapter 1

The night was dark and cold as Dana was driving her rented Subaru down the deserted looking street.  Dana noticed how abandoned the city atmosphere was for the first time.  However she wasn’t concentrating on the atmosphere.  Her mind was a still thinking about the phone call that she received a few days ago. It was from her girlfriend Alice. 

Dana awoke abruptly from the cell phone ringing on her bed. Sighing she reached over to the phone and answered it. 

“Hello? “ Dana said groggily into the receiver.  She was still half asleep. 

“Dana it’s me Alice.  Did I wake you?” Dana sat up when she heard Alice‘s voice and smiled. Ever Since Alice went away on an assignment, she rarely heard from Alice.

“Hey baby. I haven’t heard from you for a long time. I missed you.” Dana said happily. However her smile faded at the tone of Alice’s voice.

“Dana… listen to me. I don’t have a lot of time. I’m into something deep. I bit off more than I can chew with this one. “Alice’s voice sounded shaky. Dana’s concern started to grow with each shaky breath that Alice took.

“Alice slow down.  What’s going on? “Dana’s brow started to furrow when she heard the panic in Alice’s voice. 

“Dana I just want to tell you, if something happens to me I don’t want you to come for me “Alice’s breath became more rapid as she heard footsteps approaching.  Dana’s heart beat started to pulsate faster as she heard the footsteps over the other line. 

“Alice, tell me what…”

“Shit!…Dana I have to go!”

Before Dana could answer back the line went dead. Dana was lost. Why did Alice seem so worried? What did she get herself into that made her so nervous? Whatever it was, she new she couldn’t go back to sleep that night.

Dana pulled her car into the bear parking lot of what looks like a diner. She got out and took a look at her surroundings.  The place looks like it has been abandoned.  As she went in to the diner she noticed that the interior of the entire place was also run down.
