    Alice doesnt know what to get Dana, Dana already got Alice a gift, their friends get them an even better gift.


    It was Christmas Eve 2005 and Alice sat alone in the Planet waiting for the others to arrive. She sat there trying to figure out what she should get Dana for Christmas. For some reason, although Dana was her best friend, she found it incredibly hard to figure out what to buy her. Dana had been through a lot in the past year, dealing with her breakup with Lara, then her coming out to her parents, things were hard for her right now and Alice could not figure out what to get her that didn’t seemmaterialistic. Shane walked in and sat down in her chair, knocking Alice out of her thoughts.

    Shane smiled at Alice, ” thinking hard Al?” she said as she laughed.

    Alice smiled and laughed sarcastically, ” very funny Shane, hey what did you get for Dana, because for the life of me I cant figure out what to buy her”.

    Shane put down the newspaper she had started to read, ” I bought her a new tennis racket, waitso you mean to tell me that it’s Christmas Eve and you still haven’t gotten her a gift? You do know we’re exchanging gifts tonight right?”

    Alice sighed loudly, ” I know! I know! *****, why’s it have to be so hard to buy your best friend a gift?”

    Shane laughed knowing Alice had growing feelings for her best friend, she lifted the newspaper to her face and said seriously, ” oh I don’t know Almaybe its because its hard to buy a gift for someone you’re in love with”.

    Alice jumped out of her seat and grabbed the newspaper revealing a smiling Shane, ” Shane! What the *****?”

    Shane sighed, ” What AL? everyone knows it, why don’t you just tell her already?”

    Alice slumped back into her chair, ” because Shane, you can’t just go telling people, especially if that person is your best friend, that your ***** in love with them, that’s not how it works, and plus she’s ***** Dana Fairbanks, star ***** tennis player and icon! She could get any girl she wanted, why would she want to fall in love with me?”.

    Shane could see the sadness in Alice’s eyes, ” sometimes love comes when you least expect it Al, and sometimes its already there” just as Shane was finishing those words Carmen walked into the Planet and over to them sitting in Shane’s lap.

    9. I hate to be repetitive but I have to say it “SWEET”. That’s the appropriate word to characterize this story. I love it. Thanks for the Danish.
