Bette: (apologetically)”I know, I’m sorry for everything I’ve said…I just want to be more a part of this baby than just a supporter. Don’t you want me to be”

Tina: “Yes, baby, I do and I’m sorry for what I’ve said, too. I hope you understand that I, in no way, think we are a mistake….I’ve loved you since that first kiss and there is nothing in this world that could make me reconsider what I have with you….I love you .”

Bette: “I love you,too”

Tina: “Then if you love me as much as you say you do then please respect my decision on this and understand it is nothing agains’t your ethnic back ground and has nothing to do with your role in the baby’s life. You’ll be every bit as much of a mother to this child as I will.”

They kiss passionately. As they pull away Bette has an idea.

Bette: “Tell you what, why don’t you make an appointment with your OB/GYN so we can share our concerns with her and see if she might could make some suggestions about finding and compromising on a donor.”

Tina: “O.K, babe, thank you for being all that you are…Goodnight, I love you.”

Bette: “I love you ,T. Sweet Dreams.”

Chapter 3:

Bette Tina are sitting in the waiting room of Dr. Wilson’s clinic, patiently waiting to be called to the examining room. Bette has been sulking ever since they arrived. Tina takes notice of this. Bette sits with her arms crossed and she could burn a hole throught the wall in front of her with her straight forward stare. Tina knows something is wrong.

Tina: “Babe, are you alright?”

Bette: “I don’t want to be here.”

Tina: “Well, you don’t have to go back with me for my checkup if you don’t want to, but I thought you wanted us to talk with Dr. Wilson.”

Bette: “I just don’t know why I’m even here.”

Tina: “Well, we can always talk with her later…I guess.”

Bette: “Why bother?”

Tina: “What’s that supposed to mean?”

Bette: “Oh, I don’t know, I was just thinking maybe I should just write you a blank check and let you work out the details.”
