The next morning Ashley woke up to the incessant buzzing of her alarm clock. 6AM did not sit well with her. Today was going to be a long day because today was the day she would have to face Madison and Aiden. Neither person knew that she had found out about the “affair,” for lack of a better word. When Ashley had run to Sarah for comfort, she had made her swear not to tell Aiden a word about her knowing. Ashley wanted to tell them that she knew on her own. But, most of all, she wanted to see how they acted around her to see if she could pick up on the small signs that she may have missed before when she didn’t know.

Finally, after lying in bed for an extra 15 minutes, Ashley dragged herself into the bathroom to get ready. An hour and forty-five minutes later, Ashley walked out to her car, cranked it and pulled out of the driveway. Usually, she would put in some music and start singing along, but today she wasn’t in the mood to be perky. Instead, Ashley thought about the new girl Spencer and her son Justin. Today was to be Spencer’s first day working at Sarah’s from 4-9. For the rest of the day after the mother and son left the café on Tuesday, Ashley just couldn’t shake the feeling that they were special. This made her distracted and distant which Sarah even commentated on. Ashley simply told her that she was thinking about Aiden and Madison which made the older woman leave her alone. Since it was Spencer’s first day, Ashley wanted to be there for her. Honestly, Ashley just wanted to learn everything about Spencer as possible.

Ashley absentmindedly pulled into the school parking lot, parked, and turned her car off. Thinking about Spencer and Justin had distracted Ashley enough to not even realize that she had arrived at school. Looking at her watch, she realized that it was 8:15 and she only had 5 minutes before she was late for her first class. Luckily, Ashley wouldn’t see Aiden or Madison until lunch. She didn’t have a single class with the two “lovebirds,” so she could easily avoid confrontation until lunch. Jumping quickly out of her car, Ashley jogged up the front steps and into the hall on which her first class was located. She ducked into the classroom right before the bell rang. She had made it. Ashley quickly made her way to her seat in the back of the room and quietly awaited the lesson. Once again, her thoughts wondered back the Spencer and Justin…
