You break it, you replace it – Chapter 6
Tina heard the front door open and close. She continued staring at the letter in her hands, an assortment of emotions assaulting her.
“How’s my roommate this evening?” Alice’s voice chimed down the hallway.
“Hey Alice” Tina did her best to sound a little less perplexed than she was.
“So how was it?” Alice asks as she walked around the lounge and came into sight. Tina looked at her blankly “How did the trip home go?” Alice prompted
“Oh…um…I didn’t really do a lot of packing” Tina replied weakly “Bette was there.”
“But she promised you that she wouldn’t do that!” Alice was ready to rant, Bette was in no place to go breaking promises.
“It was mid afternoon by the time she arrived” Tina shook her head “It’s not her fault, I only said I’d be there in the morning”.
“Did you talk?” Alice asked cautiously.
“I…we…I got so emotional and I broke down. She held me but then I told her that it’s over between us. God it’s such a ***** mess.”
“I’m sorry, Tina, are you guys ever going to work out what the ***** you’re doing?”
“She wrote me a letter” Tina stated. She hadn’t planned to tell Alice about it but, confusion reigned at this point and Tina would listen to advice from any source even Alice.
“And what does it say?” Alice asked eagerly. She had heard about Bette’s talent as a wordsmith many times back in the early days of Bette and Tina’s relationship and wanted to see if Bette’s skills lived up to the hype.
“Well…it…she…”
“That’s it right?” Alice pointed to the paper in Tina’s hand
“Yeah” Tina replied, knowing what was about to happen
“Hand it over” Alice instructed
Tina did as she was told, unable to summon the strength to object to Alice’s demand.
Alice sat down and immersed herself in Bette’s prose. Tina watched her expression guessing at which part she was up to as it changed.
“Wow” Alice sighed in admiration.
Tina held her head in her hands and shook it from side to side.
“*****…She’s really laid it all on the line here. What are you going to do?” Alice asked, not relishing the choice Tina had to make.

Very interesting.. and yes I trust you to make it ok..
that’s what i’m talking about! making the wrong decision just because she isn’t ready to make any other decision and won’t submit to the emotional blackmail. not looking good for them. good chapter! i’m trusting you!
Don’t let Bette go to Paris without Tina! What a waste of a romantic milieu for making up! Thanks.
It’s blackmail but I still want Tina to go to Paris.
nobody’s going anywhere…
Totally trust you! Liz and I are basically saying the same thing, but I don’t think the blackmail is intentional. Tina is making the right initial decision, yet I hope love changes her mind.
that was awesome dialogue between tina and alice!!!
