    “Wish You Were Here”: Chapter Ten

    Bette and Tina snuck back into the house early in the morning. Both of them couldn’t sleep. They both sat the couch; the morning light was starting to illuminate the room.

     

    There were no regrets on either side about what had happened; if they had the choice…they would do it all over again.

     

    Tina started to think about Lexi.

     

    There was no doubt about it; she still loved Bette. Bette was and still is the love of her life. How was she going to tell Lexi? Would she understand?

     

    Bette had been staring at Tina as they both sat there in silence.

     

    “What are you thinking about?” she asked.

     

    Tina slowly turned towards Bette.

     

    “Everything…” Tina sighed. Bette took Tina’s hand and gave it a light squeeze.

     

    Tina heard the floors creak coming from the hallway. She quickly turned and saw Lexi standing against the wall.

     

    “You two are up early.” She said calmly; her arms were folded. Her look said it all; Lexi knew what had happened; or at least she had a good idea.

     

    Bette released Tina’s hand.

     

    “Yeah…we…um…” Before Tina could explain Lexi cut her off.

     

    “I think we need to talk Tina.”

     

    “Yeah; we do.” Tina got up from the couch. She and Lexi went outside on the porch; closing the door behind them.

     

    They both stood there in silence. Tina didn’t know what to say; or even where to start.

     

    Lexi was the first to speak.

     

    “You didn’t come to bed last night.”

     

    Tina looked up at her; she didn’t say anything. Lexi sat down on the porch swing and patted the space next to her; Tina sat down.

     

    She tried to put her thoughts together; and try to tell Lexi how she felt. She knew what she wanted; but she didn’t know how to tell her.

     

    “Lex…god I don’t know where to begin…everything is just happening so fast.”

     

    “I know.” Lexi gently pushed off the ground; they started to swing slowly. “I have been up all night…just thinking about all of this. I know that you have to make a choice…so let me make it easier for you…”

    16. That was perfect Coffee! It was the true test to see how much Lexi loves Tina and she passed with flying colors. She made the right decision to set Tina free to choose, even though she knew it wasn’t going to be her. She knew that Tina and Angelica both need Bette, and face it, Lexi is no competition because Bette owns Tina’s heart…it was just on loan to Lexi for awhile; and Lexi was good to Tina’s heart. I hope Lexi finds the love that she deserves. This was an exxxxcellent story Coffee and I can’t wait for the next one!

    25. HEy Coffee, Thank you for 10 subllime chapters and a romantic tale to rival Romeo and Juliet. Bette and Tina just fit together; two halves of the same soul. Lexi saw that and knew that she was defeated before even beginning the battle. It take real love to be able to give up. Now could i ask for a sequel or a new tale to charm me.
