Window of Opportunity ch.42
Window of Opportunity
Chapter 42
Bette
By Monday morning when I checked my email, there was a message from Tina’s parents saying that they would be here on Thursday. I had sent them more pictures of Angie and all of us the previous evening and they thanked me for taking the time to send such beautiful pictures of a beautiful little girl and a beautiful family. I couldn’t disagree with them.
They must have gotten off the phone with Tina and started working on the particulars immediately. The itinerary that they have planned include them staying for two weeks. The hotel, Chamberlain West Hollywood that they were booked into was not inexpensive but very convenient to the house and I almost felt compelled to talk to Tina about them staying at the house. I am seeing through their actions that they are serious about trying to be involved in Tina’s life and for her, I’m happy. I’m also a little nervous. To have had this many years without any interaction of her family had made me comfortable. Now, although I don’t have to try to impress them, they are important to Tina and I want them to approve of her life. I want them to be ok with our relationship. I love Tina and her relationship with me is what caused many of the strains with her parents and I want to be able to do anything to take that away. I don’t think that I would feel comfortable with them staying at the house though. Hell, Tina isn’t even living there full time although she is there a lot that from the outside, it would probably be hard not to think we were living together.
I love what we have. We are really investing in getting to know one another. We are supportive of one another and we are talking to one another. The conversations that we have are still at times hard because they have so many underlying emotions involved but we together are continuing with that journey. She continues to see Dan weekly and we have another upcoming appointment with Suzanne on the day her parents are supposed to arrive. It is probably a good thing that she has an appointment with Dan today to process all that is going on in her life. Shana is expected back soon but with her parents now in the forefront, I don’t think that she has Shana and her craziness in her thoughts.

you’ve written such a beautiful story. i can honestly say that i get on my computer daily to see if you’ve updated or not. please continue…
Just got all caught up with your story since I got behind on my vacation. Loved the Angie being a motormouth comment and the questions that Dan brought up so life like. Can’t wait for the next chapter.
Wow, what can I say, if this was a book I would read it from cover to cover, most likely in one setting. This story is touching a lot of issues and has many places to go, I can’t wait to find out. Thank you. Md
I really like this one. Hope Tinas Mom and Dad, trys to do the right thing. Tina lived without them for ten yrs. another ten would hurt but she would live.
This story is delicious and you are writing it to perfection. It has such a wonderful balance of drama and humour and I find myself watching daily for an update.
Wow. What an emotionally draining post-dinner, post-therapy, pre-bedtime conversation. No wonder Tina’s worn out, it must have been an emotionally wrenching session. But I agree, those were some tough questions that needed to be asked, that Tina needed to process and respond to. And I think she addressed each issue with aplomb no matter how draining and painful it was for her. You know I never doubted Tina’s inner strength in the show. Even if she was portrayed as a doormat, subservient wife in S1, I still got glimpses of her core strength. She was the one who abandoned the comforts of her normal, straight life to be with the love of her life. She had the courage to leave Bette at the time when she had nothing to support herself with. And she practically went through her pregnancy on her own! So I think it’s not a question of weakness but more of gnawing insecurity. Sorry for rambling. ;) Anyway, looking forward to what promises to be a surprise-filled date night! Thanks, newagegirl! Hope you’d make us swoon real soon! :>
Btw, here’s a *wink* to the question in the previous chapter if homosexuality is genetic or not . ;> I forgot to include this in my last comment. Go newagegirl!
Wonderful update, tina’s session was a good one and dan is right. it’s great that tina is ready to move back with bette. the communication between is amazing! angie a motormouth, lol….can’t wait for the date to see what each one has planned for the other and can’t wait for tina’s parents to arrive!! PPS:)
Nice update – insomnia rules! I’m glad Tina is approaching this with some caution – she knows this could be devastating if something goes wrong. As always, looking forward to the next one…
It’s such a pleasure to *eavesdrop* on the conversations these two have…thanks for letting us be flies on the wall :)
lovely…Love motormouth Angie…she certainly is Alice’s earth daughter…pps
