Tina left Bette to go back to Alice’s….she quietly went in the door, not knowing if Alice was awake or not. She noticed her on the couch…so she went over and sat down in front of her…”Alice………………Alice……..wake up..Go get in your bed..”
“I waited up for you….but honestly, I had hoped that you would work things out with Bette…but since you are here, I suppose that you didn’t….”
“I can’t work on things if Candace is there……….” said Tina as she sobbed into her hands..
“What?” and Alice sat up..
“I said that Candace was there when I got there…”
“Bette wouldn’t do that…they’re must be a reason…” said Alice..
“Quit making excuses for her, Al..” said Tina.
“I’m sorry…I just don’t understand Bette, that’s all……….”
“Yea, neither do I…”
“Well,” said Alice as she got up…”Why don’t you lay down here and get some sleep. You really need it..” .
“I don’t know if I can.”
“Try, baby.” said Alice as she walked towards her bedroom..”I’ll see you in the morning…well, in an hour or so…” said.
Tina didn’t respond, she just laid back on the couch…The longer she laid there the more upset she got…After 7 years of giving Bette her all, Bette had single-handedly…destroyed it…She just couldn’t keep her ***** hands to herself…and Candace…well, Candace has it coming…I will get her back…Tina finally nodded off to sleep..
About 2 hours later, Alice walked into the living room and was happy to see that Tina was snoozing on the couch…so she left her a note…
‘Tina,
I have to work today, but make yourself at home..I’ll be home later. Alice.’
Alice left her apartment and immediately made a B-Line for Bette’s…
She knocked several times..but no answer…so, she walked around back to where the pool was and tried that door..Surprisingly, it was open…She opened the door and called for Bette…no answer…
“Bette, that ***** ***** had better not be here…” she screamed into the house before she walked in..still no answer…she walked into the living room, and there was Bette on the floor with the phone in her hand….crying…
“Oh my god Bette, Come on.” said Alice as she ran to Bette’s side and began to help her up.
“C’mon, hunny let’s get to the couch…”
“No, I don’t want to move……………..I don’t even want to breath anymore.” cried Bette..
“***** Bette, don’t ***** say that…now come on…everything will be okay.”
“No, it won’t…I have fucked everything up…I lost my wife…my love of 7 years…”
“Bette, I said to ***** sit up and get on the couch……..now do it….” said Alice angrily…
Bette did as told this time..she hadn’t slept all night, so she was so tired that she couldn’t hardly move at all….Alice had to help her…and she sat on the sofa…
“Bette, what the ***** happened?” asked Alice…
“Candace…” said Bette…” I don’t know why I did it…I love Tina more than anything in this world….I don’t know why… I don’t love Candace…why would I sleep with someone that I don’t even love, just to lose the one I do love? Why?”
“You fucked up…everyone ***** up sometimes…you just have to fix it…” said Alice.
“How?”
“Love…show her that you love her…Love conquers all…”
“I don’t think that will work…” Bette cried.
“How do you know if you don’t try?”
“I have to go see her…” said Bette as she slowly got off of the couch….her whole body aching…
“Bette?” said Alice..”I didn’t mean to go see her right now…”
“Why don’t you let me help you get into bed so you can sleep for a while, then you can go see her?”
“No, I can’t sleep in that bed….I have to go see her…” said Bette…
“You have to sleep that alcohol off first…..”
“I haven’t been drinking…” said Bette…
“Well, if you haven’t been drinking, then why is there an empty wine bottle on the floor?” asked Alice as she pointed to it…”And if you tell me that you shared that with someone else other than Tina, I will ***** ***** slap you right here…”
“No, I didn’t …”
“Well if that’s the case, then you drank it…and if you go over to my place drunk, Tina will notice it…not to mention smell it…” said Alice as she waved her hand back and forth in front of her nose….
“Look, u either take me to her…or I will drive…” said Bette as she slowly walked into the bedroom to change clothes…
“*****…okay…I don’t want you to kill yourself, drinking and driving….Tina is going to………………kill me.”
“I’m sorry Al, but I have to see her…”
“She’s sleeping, Bette…” said Alice as she was trying to convince Bette not to go around her right now…
“I don’t care….” said Bette…there was silence and then Alice heard sobs coming from the bedroom…she was worried about her friend, so she got up and went to the bedroom door. Bette was standing there holding Tina’s wedding ring in her hand….
“She took it off..” said Bette crying…”She said that no matter what, she would never take it off…”
“Dammit Bette…come on…” said Alice as she put her arms around Bette and walked her to the door…”Don’t under any circumstances, tell her that I did this for you…take you to her I mean…”
“I won’t…” said Bette as she watched out the window….
“Bette, how will you get back home?” asked Alice…
“Hopefull, by Tina…I hope I can talk her into coming home with me…”
“Bette, please, don’t get your hopes up…Tina is hurting right now..and she is very, very angry…so, just don’t expect too much…”
“I remember…” said Bette…as she recalled the fight, the *****, and everything in between and after….
Bette and Alice pulled into the parking lot…”Just remember what I said……………..now get out before she sees me dropping u off…” said Alice.
She did and Alice quickly left..
Bette walked up the flight of stairs to Alice’s apartment slowly….and once at the door, she let out a sigh…..knock knock knock….
No answer….

Finally, the door opened and Tina stood there looking Bette in the eye………….not knowing what to say or do….
