Chapter 8
Angelica bursts through the door of the club and sprinted into the milling crowd standing around the entrance. It didn’t take her long to move down the street away from the bustling noise. She wanted to get away from everyone and everything before she let go of the tears that were threatening. That thought, get away, get somewhere, running became the only thought on her mind above all else. It was only by focusing in on this one thought that helped Angelica prevent herself from drowning in the doubt, the embarrassment and the pain.
Moving quickly Angelica waited as long as she could until she was fairly alone on the street, blocks away. Finally sensing her isolation she let the tears come.
Angelica turned herself over to her tears. Letting them fall down her cheeks and making her face wet and giving her a runny nose. The crying was hard and violent, shaking her shoulders and making it hard to breathe. Finally the initial waves of tears passed leaving her hiccupping in spurts. Silently the tears were over but the anger remained which by now was simmering at a pretty good pace.
"How could Paige say such a thing to me?"
Angie had always considered Paige her best friend. Yes things lately had been a little uneven but that’s because Paige is always hitting on some guy but still they were friends. Not any more.
"What a bitch she can be!" Angie says out loud through the tears.
Angelica is still moving down the street, slower not as driven as before but still moving. She has seen Paige be this cruel before but it’s always been directed at some other twerp, never at her. "I should have said something back." Angie realizes. In her mind’s eye she sees the scene again and is stunned to acknowledge that she reacted like every other of Paige’s victims.
"I should have told her off. She’s not any friend of mine."
Saying this out loud anchored it into Angie’s thinking. This got Angie’s feet to stop for the first time since leaving the club. "She’s not my friend and I don’t want to go back to that room where she’ll be."
“And I’m not going to.”

Oh Lord. BIG SHIT STORM ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But since Angie is going to LA…hmm she may not run into Bette right away but maybe Shane? That hotel clerk probably thought Tina was a dumbass. Well, I guess she is. =/ I guess saying, “It’s 12:30 at night. Do you know where your children are?” isn’t quite so funny anymore.
the hotel clerk was just plain rude. Though I presume Tina was a bit surprised to find out she was registered there. You are so gonna keep Angie one step ahead of Tina, but Tina still has resources on the west coast, lets see who she calls. I agree with Angie backing away from Paige, I do not agree with a young female all alone getting on a bus.

That is one big, brave girl you got there. I can’t imagine the consequences that she will suffer when Tina gets to L.A. or SD. Oh my this tale of yours is interesting indeed. Please Post Soon. PEACE.
Good to see an update Jwet! I understand that bringing up Angie’s heritage would automatically bring up Bette, but Tina is still in the wrong on not incoporating her black side into her upbringing. And Angie is dead wronf flor lying no matter her irrational thoughts. This is what happens when teenagers leave their head in their ass! I know a lot of folks are chanting for a TiBette reunion but I don’t think it would be in thier best interest to get entangled into a romance. Too much baggage. But I will be happy with ehatever way you see fit. PPS

Oh my stars, Angie is about to come face to face with her history. Poor Angie and Poor Tina. I agree Tina should have somehow incorporated Bette into Angie’s young life but that is over we have to face the present. And they are about to meet head on. Good job Jwet. PPS
i hope angie will be found by shane or bette pretty soon, it’s a scary world out there to be alone

I admit, I’m addicted to this story. I was thinking, wouldn’t it be neat if Angelica goes to the Planet to have breakfast or lunch and she uses Tina’s charge card and Kit notices the name and see some resemblances….and starts to ask questions. See, I think about our favorite couple all the time! What’s the cure for this addiction?
I know it’s a great story when I finish a chapter and my head is filled with all of the possibilities of what could be happening next. Thanks for continuing.

Hello JWet, Thank you som much for the kind words of your Shout out. I always write it as I see and feel it. Remember that I am only replying in kind. It is your talent and dexterity as an author that brings out my narrative side. Anywho, shame that work is taking so much of your time right now. I know that you love it (most of the time) and are committed whoelheartedly. Same with your writing; your dogged determination see you through. That and a fabulous imagination. So two cents down, back to this tremendous tale. I loved Angelica’s realization that Paige was a complete cad and that she was just one of her many playthings. Natural to have react as most victims do; full of shock and horror. This is a lesson well learned I hope. Taking people at face value is a good thing; if they treat others viciously then one day that kmalice will be aimed in your direction. Now Angelica is out on her own and headed to LA. She just needs to plan what she is going to do once there. As for Tina, shit is hitting the fan as the truth spills out. I ama sure that Paige will lay it all on Angelica and prompt Tina to come ans rescue her child. I do think that there are some many unresolved issues between Tina and Bette that need to be dealt with before either of them can really move on. They each have one foot in the past which anchor them to their previous behavior. Now is the time for resolution. You know that I want them to rekindle their romance but will be happy if they just start talking again. They were best friends as well as lovers and both need that person in their lives again. Just can’t wait to see how you pull all of these threads together. Thank you so much for sharing so much of yourself with me and for finding the time to continue this awesome adventure. Oh Dear me! I dont like Angie getting into a bus all alone. Hopefully she’ll run into somebody as son as she gets to LA. But Tina being registered at the hotel!… he he .. that would get the wheels turning in her head .. Great update Jwet! Looking forward to more.
My favorite line was from the hotel clerk: “”Well Ms. Kennard you are registered here. I can put you through to your room.” That must have knock Tina off her rockers! Huh, this may just rush Tina to California; but who will she call first, Paige or Paige’s parents. Not to be different, but I hope Paige grows up and be safe in SD. Can’t wait for the fireworks. Well she at least needs to go back to the hotel & get her clothes! I feel bad for Tina & Angie. Hope things can get straightened out soon, but I think it’s going to take some time. PPS!!
It’s good Angelica understands that Paige is no friend to her, but she’s showing her immaturity by ALL of her other actions. A bus station late at night, even in San Diego, conjures many an unsavory image. At least she’s trying to get home. But coop, how was the clerk rude when that is the ONLY clue Tina has as to Angelica’s whereabouts? The clerk only spoke the truth. I suppose I should confess to having worked at a very large hotel in customer service for over a decade. But yes, I have to agree, it was very unfair of Tina not to Angelica about her origins.
WHAT THE HELL IS ANGELICA DOING?! Why is she getting on a bus so late?? Tina is going to be SOOOOO pissed off at her daughter when she found out that she played her to go on Spring Break without her. Anyways, I can’t wait to see how this mother and daughter “talk” is going to fall out..CAN’T WAIT!!! PPS.
Tina is such an easy target for Angie’s anger. Teens don’t really want too much control. Paige is a bully and it took perceptive cruelty directed at Angie for her to finally see it. Great transitional chapter moving the story from the frying pan into the fire. PPS
So Angelica comes that much closer to her answer without even knowing it. I still want and will always want Bette and Tina together and now even more when Angelica realizes that Bette is the reason that she was created as a bi-racial child.
