At this affirmation Bette gets an idea. “Hey lets log on and get me a ticket to New York. I’m going to go take a quick shower and pack. I don’t want there to be any pressure on Tina. I’m going to New York.”
Still the girls were all standing in a circle in the middle of the living room looking at Bette as if she was crazy. The speed of Bette’s decisions have long left them in the dust. They were still dealing with Tina’s departure and here Bette was already on traveling to New York. Trying to catch up Shane shakes herself.
“Bette you jump in the shower, tell me what you want to pack and I’ll get it ready.”
Bette smiles knowing that Shane was now on board. “Great just throw in some underwear and a couple shirts and jeans. The rest I can buy.” Bette finishes up as she closes the bathroom door.
Shane then turns to Alice. “Well you heard her, get on her computer and find her a flight and if you can make it the one Tina and Angelica are on that would be the best.”

Bette was just coming out to her bedroom, fully dressed and ready to go. She entered the living room to find all the girls huddled up around Alice who seemed to be on her laptop. Alice bent over it, and Shane pointing over her shoulder, “No get her that seat it’s a window.”
Alice slapped Shane’s hand away, “I know what I’m doing. Bette doesn’t like windows she likes aisle, more room to roam if you know what I mean.”
“Oh come on Alice I don’t think Bette’s mind is going be doing any roaming unless you’ve got her sitting next to Tina and she can pin her in.” Kit offers looking at the screen along with everyone else.
“Seating?” Bette says getting everyone’s attention. “Does this mean you got me all hooked up?”
Dana is the one who breaks away from the others and runs towards Bette, “Bette, Alice was awesome. She got a hold of Tina’s secretary, Betsy …”
“Yeah funny how her secretary’s name sounds a lot like yours.” Alice throws in.
Dana throws Alice her own look for interrupting her and then turns back to Bette, “Anyway … ah… yeah … Betsy she filled Alice in on what airline Tina usually takes from there we called the airline. Now Alice pulled some reporter mode on a hot story and called the airline …”
Again Alice interrupts, “Yeah but that bitch on the phone wouldn’t tell me which flight Tina and Angelica are on. So you’re on your own. We’ve got you a flight. If there’s a God in this world it’s the one Tina and Angelica are on.”
Dana nods her head in agreement with Alice’s declaration. “Yeah all of that.”
Bette chuckles at the dramatics, “Thanks girls now just get me to the airport and I’ll take it from there.”

Tina was checking in for her and Angelica at the kiosk. Neither one of them had bags to check just their carry ons. Angelica was moping beside her, not really talking. That was OK with Tina as long as they got on the plane. They passed through security with ease, still leaving them thirty minutes before boarding time. Finding a seat at the gate Tina was content to hold tight but Angelica was restless.
“Can I go to the gift shop and get some magazines for the flight?”
Tina looked at her daughter, she didn’t trust her just yet, “Sure but I’ll go with you.”
Angelica wanted to say something but didn’t want to cross her Mom too badly. Instead she stood up and turned towards the closest gift shop. Before she took a step, Bette appeared before her.
“Hey there, is this your flight?” Bette asks innocently.
“Bette” Tina says behind Angelica. “What are you doing here?”
Bette smiled her most welcoming smile, “I’m going to New York. I’ve got family there to visit.”

awesome update! i like how that played out so it doesn’t seem like a spur of the moment thing. they both have to be sure about the future they want.

I’m liking this a lot. A bit far fetched but look at Sarah Palin and the whole story around her. No one would believe that it wasn’t scripted by Hollywood especially now that the mother-in-law to be was arrested for distribution of crystal meth. Who could make up such shyte?? LOL. :-) PPVS. Thx.

YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. been travelling today, got home a little while ago and just saw this. I’m also watching ep. 12, S5 and just saw Tina and Bette dancing. Beautiful!!!!!. Loved this chapter. Oh oh oh goodness Jwet, I think you just blew a hole right through Tina’a bag of control. No matter how much she is not ready now she is going to have to change course one way or another. Come on, 16 years is a long time not to be a whole person and as for Angie in NY law will let her be emanccipated and she is a head strong little girl, so that could be a twist if Tina shuts down again. Please give Bette patients, I think she will need them. Thank you,Md
This is exactly what Tina wanted, for Bette to come and find her. Of course it was many years after the fact, but hey she is coming. You can feel Tina internal fight over her feelings towards Bette. On one hand the love is still there while on the other the pain of the betrayal is ever present.

Question: Does Angie really understand that Bette is her mom? I get the sense that it hasn’t sunk in yet and when it does, she may be a bit angry — I guess you need to add some drama, right?
