    What Might Have Been 3

    “Bette?”

“Hi baby, now before you get all worried, I will have your kitchen cleaned before you get home. How has your day been?” Bette asked.

“Uhh, not bad, so you are really going all out for a nice dinner?”

“Yes. Please don’t tell me you are calling to cancel. I know I have done that many times to youand I am sorry. Just please tell me you are coming home on time.”

“Actually, Bette, I am going to be a little late. There was an unexpected meeting. I am sorry. I will be home as soon as I can though.”

“Well, I won’t say that I am not appointed, but I do understand. I will just keep everything warm for you. Is the meeting at the office?”

“Yes, how about I call you when I get done? There are some people here that I need to talk to. I am sorry Bette. Give Angelica a kiss for me. Talk to you later.”

“TI love you.” Bette got out before the phone went dead.

Something did not sound right in Tina’s voice. Bette could not figure out what it was, but something was not right. It worried her a little bit. The sound of crying sent Bette to check on Angelica.

Meanwhile, at the office, Tina was struggling with an enormous amount of guilt.

“Jack, I just don’t know if I can do this. I know what it feels like. I have a baby. I should just go home. It is not right. I should talk to Bette.”

“Tina, come on. She will never know. Do you think that when she fucked that other woman she beat herself up like you are doing?”

“That is not the point. When Bette did it, it was wrong. If I do it, it will be wrong. Cheating is cheating, whether we are happy or not.”

“That is the problem with woman, guilt eats them alive. Menwe just do what we want. No thought to it.’

“With talk like that, I understand why I am with women. That is about the dumbest thing I have ever heard.”

    1. Stupid Bette! Why did she run? Ok I understand why she would run, but Tina told him to stop right? Yeah, I read it again and she told him to stop, Bette needs to get her ass back up there to stop that jackass from hurting Tina! Please post soon!

    2. Okay, Bette needs to go back. Tina asked him to stop. I read it again as waell as looked at the punctuation. That was not passion that was fright. Have Bette turn around and go back and protect Tina. Then give her a piece of her mind when she gets home. Thanks for the post. Plese post again soon.

    3. Lets hope Bette goes back to help Tina, or will Tina be able to fend Jack off and then realise, Bette had been to see her, when sehe sees the picnic basket. Please post soon.

    4. i guess it’s all depends on where the pause is: jack, don’t stop or jack don’t, stop….i hope she stopped it, saw the basket, run home to bette and get the hell she deserved…as long as they can fix it

    5. I believe that Bette will Think of what she heard and get her ass back to Tina Do not go Bette.Go Get your wife. Kick the damn door down and save your wife/ thanks

    6. this is too much like the show except tina said she loves bette–i’ll read the next ch. but if it’s still like the show i’ll probably not read more because all i want to read now are good fibe stories where they are together i think ic and writers have lost their minds with this couple

    7. Honestly I almost said screw it when I read the last chapter, but I wanted to come back for another to see what else Tina was thinking. And I could see how Bette might misunderstand what Tina said. If she was a little breathless it could be taken the wrong way. I would’ve pounded on the door until someone opened up, and then assessed the situation without jumping to conclusions as much as possible.
