    Unusual Love Ch. 3

“Hello Helena,” Helena took a seat next to Alice.

Bette looked at Alice. “So how are you keeping up?”

Alice sighed. “I’m doing good, great, fantastic.” She groaned. “I’m bullshitting you, I feel like crap. I don’t know what’s going on between Lara and me. She’s becoming distant, and I’m afraid.” Helena grabbed Alice’s hand. “I’m just afraid of losing her that’s all.” She sniffed.

“Al, everything’s going to be okay. Just take it one day at a time.”  Bette looked at Helena, and Helena caught her eye. Bette looked away and back at Alice. “Everything’s going to be okay.”

“Hello girls, what did I miss?” Everybody looked up and saw Tina. Bette sighed heavily and rubbed her hand over her face. “Hello Helena, nice to see you again.”

“The same Tina.” Helena looked at Bette.

“Hello Bette,” Bette looked up at Tina and smiled faintly.

“Hi Tina.” Tina took a seat next between Bette and Shane. “So lets order.” The girls picked up their menus and started to look.  “So where’s Angelica?”

    Tina sighed. “With Henry.”

“Why did you leave my daughter with a complete stranger?”

Tina rolled her eyes and sat her menu down. “For your information, Henry is no stranger to Angelica. He’s like a father figure to her. She needs that in her life.”

Bette scoffed and scold at Tina. “Are you fucking serious? She is my daughter also Tina. Don’t you forget that.”

Shane shook her head. “C’mon you guys, not today please.”

“No,” Bette continued to stare at Tina. “This is every fucking day with her. I’m still fighting for my little girl. Don’t do this Tina because you know what I can do.”

“Please Bette, I’ve been through this with you before. If you want to fight this, be my guest, but you won’t win.”

Bette got up from the table. “I’m not dealing with this shit today. I’m sorry you guys.” Bette walked out of the Planet.

Shane looked at Tina. “Why do you do this? Do you enjoy ruining her life?”

“You don’t even understand what’s going on. You don’t know what kind of shit she puts me through.”  Helena shook her head and got up from the table. She ran outside looking for Bette. She saw her pulling out of the spot and stopped her. Bette rolled down her window and continued to look down.

“I’m sorry that you had to go through that. I don’t know what else to say except I’m sorry.”

Bette shook her head. “Helena, it’s not your fault that Tina’s being a cold-hearted bitch.” She laughed softly and looked up. “Thank you for coming to see if I was okay.”

Helena smiled. “It was the least I could do.” Bette nodded. “Don’t forget, our little dinner tonight. My place around eight. I’ll call you.”

Bette smiled. “I don’t know, I just went through—.”

Helena shook her head. “I don’t care what just happen between you and Tina. I want you at my house around eight. I want you to have a nice time tonight and forget about everything.” Bette sighed. “Please don’t make me plead.”

“Alright…I’ll see you there.” Helena smiled.

“I knew you couldn’t say no.”

“How is that?” Bette smiled gently.

“Because you can’t resist me.” With that Helena walked away from Bette’s car. Bette laughed softly as she watched Helena leisurely walk away. She shook her head and pulled out of the parking lot.

    7. Hey ACB, Great to have you creating another wonderful tale. I love the way you have balanced the Bette and Tina awkwardness with the openness between Bette and Helena. The way that they are slowly falling one another is a joy. Happy to see that Bette was there for Shane. Now, how will the dinner go??? Can;t wait. Your Loyal Fan.
