    TWISTED TRIANGLES CH. 2

“C’mon Tina, move your *****!” Grace exclaimed from the opened doorway.

“Shut up you cow I’m comin.” Tina shouted from the van. “These bags are heavy. The least you can do is help.

“And break a nail. This is Hollywood baby, and image is everything.”

“Fine!” She dropped all the bags that were covering her slender shoulders. ” I’ll just load these into the van. You can drive me back to LAX and I’ll go back home. Deal.” She pretended to pout.

“Don’t give me grief, Kennard. Besides I want you here, I just don’t want to help you.”

    “Would you please”

“Ok hold on.” She then proceeds to sit and stretch. “Oh yeah, feels good. Feel that burn.”

Tina tries to be angry, but as always her eyes give her away. “C’mon and help me you little *****.” However her mouth always makes a strong case.

Grace jumps up “Wow, such language. She pauses. “You’ll fit right in.” You know Tina; I’m finally glad that you decided to come out here with me. What’s it been, a year since graduation?” Grace asks while grabbing a few bags from Tina.

“Yeah well I wanted to get re adjusted to civilian life after college life.”

“Tina honey you lived with your mother. How real is that?” She says walking into the living room followed closely by Tina.

” I mean workin’. Getting my feet wet in the entertainment business. His job at Alphaville sounds awesome.

“Here right through here.” Grace points to the room across the room from her own. “Yeah working under a producer is gonna be good for you. Learn the business.”

“And what about you? How are the auditions going?” Tina asks dropping the bags and a box onto her bed.

“Good. I have one tomorrow at 9:15.”

    “Wow, that’s great, for what?”

“Greeter for Wal-Mart.” Tina looks at her a moment before she responds.

“What?” Tina wants to make sure she heard her best friend correctly.

The two girls met in the second grade when Tina’s older sister was bullying Grace. Tina of course never liked her sister, so she took that opportunity to punch her giving her a bloody nose. Since that day the two similar looking women have been inseparable. Both taking turns insulting each other and defending one another from others. Grace was the first person Tina ran to when a boy broke her heart. And Tina was the first to know that Grace was *****, even before Grace herself. But after separating Junior year at college (Grace in California, Tina in New York) Tina drooped her internship in NY and joined Grace in the movie capital of the world.

“Well movie auditions aren’t comin’ along, but I gotta pay the rent honey.”

” OK, but if you get it, don’t get too comfortable. These retail places have a way of wearing you down into submission.”

” So noted. I won’t. So where do you want to eat? A California meal for a new California girl.”

    “Ivy Room? Chi”

“Tina. Gree-ter as Wal Mart. Hellooooo.”

“You haven’t gotten the job yet dearie. Today you’re an unemployed actress.”

    ” Yeah well you’re ugly.”

” Good One.” Tina remarked sarcastically.

” I know. So where really?”

” Mel’s Diner is fine with me.”

” Awesome let me grab my coat”

” Hey, why do you need a coat? It’s four o clock and eighty degrees outside?”

“Cause I paid 300 dollars for this jacket and it goes with me everywhere.”

“Ok, then.” Under her breath. “I’m living with a psycho.”

” I heard that. and yea you are, get used to it. Let’s go.

And with the last statement the longtime friends and new roommates head out to the near by burger joint.
