    Truth Be Told; #21

She’s happily married? Jin thought to herself, and Gen is moping around trying to play it safe because she thinks that Bette is messing around with her ex-girlfriend?

She had to call Gen immediately.

Work began at the same time for Gen as it did every morning, but today, she felt a little lighter after sharing an evening with Bette, trying to reconnect to the comfortable relationship they shared from before. A part of her wanted to take a leap of faith to be with Bette, but now with Tina’s appearance, she wasn’t too sure of exactly what she wanted to do.

Bette made her feel a way that she had never felt about anyone. She had never really believed she could find someone to settle down with, and yet Bette made her feel that way. Perhaps incessantly thinking about it wasn’t the answer, and what she should do is to just go with the flow.

Damnit, Gen thought to herself as she fumbled through her bag, she had left her mobile at home.

Jin checked the clock again, surprised that Gen hadn’t answered her call since she should already be at work. She heard a click, but before she could jump to say, “Hello,” she was greeted by Gen’s voicemail box again.

“Hey, you’ve reached Gen. I can’t come to the phone right now but please leave me a message with your name and number and I’ll get back to you. Thanks.”

“Gen! It’s Jin. You have to call me back, alright? It’s urgent! Thanks.”

Jin crossed her fingers, hoping that Gen would check her messages from the office. She had a piece of vital information to share.

As Tina prepared for her case, she was certain that they would get the verdict they wanted. She wanted to win this not for herself, but also for Bette. She knew how much this case meant to Bette. It would be the least she could do. Just a few more minutes before she had to head into court, and she said a silent prayer that everything would work out for the best.

Having collected new evidence from the FBI and having Bette’s testimony as a back up, Tina was fairly certain that they had a strong case. Even so, she didn’t want to be too confident of her position. In court, one should always expect the unexpected.

    1. hmm it’s getting good, beautiful update, not complaining ne more, will sit by and wait(smile) i’m a patient fan..but ur killing here with the cliff-hangers

    2. Yay I’m first again lol. Now that were some very good arguments Tina put out there. i really hope the jury will see it the same way and convict this Adele character for the rest of her life or even to the electric chair. But even if she got convicted I don’t know if Bette will get an ease of mind cause after all it won’t bring her sister back and it won’t take away the awful experience she had to go through. She’s being strong now but I guess she will get the consequences of all this afterwards, it wouldn’t be bad for her to go see a therapist to deal with it all. I also hope Gen will finally make up her mind and give Bette all the support she needs. Thanks for posting hun, it was a joy reading as always :)

    3. I’ve been enjoying this story from the beginning and hope that Gen decides what she wants from Bette and just goes for it! One thing–leading questions are perfectly permissible during a cross-examination of a witness (Tina cross examining the doctor). It’s the tool you use to make sure all the relevant testimony comes out!
