Truth Be Told; #01
“Seriously, Markie, I have no idea why I let you put me through these things,” Gen said as Mark dragged her out of her apartment that Saturday night, “You know this is the last Saturday I have before I start work on Monday!” “Oh, come on, Gen, I’m broken hearted and torn after my break up with Gerald and I need a date for tonight’s art exhibition,” Mark implored. “Come off it! You broke up with that cad because you slept with someone else, don’t act all torn about it now,” Gen said, laughing. Mark rolled his eyes and closed the front door of her apartment and hailed a cab. Gen tripped on a pothole as she walked towards the cab, “Damnit,” she muttered, “I wish I was at home alone with my iPod right now.”

Clothes were scatted on the floor of Bette’s bedroom, “I have nothing to wear,” she complained to Ollie, “Luckily I love you enough to drag my tired ass out on a Saturday night so you can cover this art exhibition for work.” Ollie laughed as she plopped herself on Bette’s bed, “B, you have such a fab body, you could go there naked and people wouldn’t care.” “I don’t think high society would approve of my nudity, but at the rate I’m vetoing outfits, I might have to consider that possibility,” Bette replied. After twenty minutes, Bette finally settled for a simple black dress which showed enough of her tanned back to be sexy. Though Ollie and Bette had been friends for over half their lives, Ollie still couldn’t help but admire her best friend’s toned tan physic. Shaking herself out of her daze, Ollie quickly picked up her coat and teasingly smacked Bette’s behind, “Come on, move that butt, or we’re going to be so late! News waits for no one!” Bette groaned as she walked out of her spacious loft apartment, “Damnit, I wish I could just stay home with my music.”

Bright lights rose up from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Gen stepped out of her cab with Mark and walked up the red carpet which adorned the staircase. “Looks like it’s going to be a great event!” Mark said excitedly, “I have to leave you while I go check on some things, I’ll be back.” “But…”, before Gen could express her annoyance, Mark had already disappeared. Quickly, Gen located the closest bar and ordered herself a drink, while trying to stay as invisible as possible.
