Shane’s POV

Alice arrived to pick me up. She was at the cafeteria to get her daily coffee since she hasn’t been able to stop at the Planet before getting to the hospital.
I was packing my stuff when Naomi came in.

“So, finally you get out of here, huh.” , she said.

“Yeah…I think I will never get use to hospitals. I never like them, but your company made it bearable.”, I said smiling at her.

She immediately blushed and grinned shyly.

“Well, it was nice to talk to you after all those evenings.”, she said.

We looked at each other for a moment. Wait a minute. Am I flirting right now? Nooo…I don’t think so. I’m just polite. And even if I was flirting, there is nothing wrong about it. But, okay I admit. Somehow I feel guilty, I don’t know why. But I didn’t want to disappoint Naomi.

“Uh…if you want to I can give you my address and my phone number. So if you want to, you could come by and talk to me whenever you need somebody to talk. I still owe you a hair cut anyway.”, I said.

“Yeah, right. I can’t wait to see your shop.”, she grinned.

I took a piece of paper and wrote my address and phone number on it. When I gave it to her she thanked me and gave me a little kiss on the cheek. I didn’t really react. I didn’t expect it to happen. Then she turned away and left.

“Bye, Shane.”, she whispered before leaving.

“Bye…”, I said.

At this moment Alice came in. I don’t how but she sensed that something was going on. She looked at me like I had a huge pimple at my nose or something.

“What?”, I asked.

“Did you just hit on the nurse?”, she said pretending to be shocked.

“No…And her name is Naomi. She often came by to talk to me. She’s nice. ”, I said innocently.

“Right…Anyway, are you ready to leave this shithouse?”, she smiled at me.

“Yes, let’s go.”, I answered grinning.

I got used to walk with those crutches very quickly. Since I didn’t want to stay in bed all day long I often walked around with them to get used to them. We got into Alice’s Mini Cooper and I was happy to see the world outside the hospital again.
Alice wanted to stop at the Planet. She forced me to go with her. But nobody was inside when we entered it. Suddenly I saw Carmen who was hiding behind a table, which made me smile.
