Tina watched as Bette emerged from their hiding spot. “Fuck,” she murmured. Tina ran her fingers thru her long hair, which a few moments ago she had up. She still felt the heat from Bette’s hands on her. There was no point in trying search for the hair clips she had been wearing without drawing suspicion to what she had been doing to the dark. She touched her swollen lips. She knew her lipstick would be smudged. She glanced at her watched and knew enough time had passed where she could emerge from the hiding place.

Tina exited from underneath the pergola and bumped into Shane. “Uh, hi Shane.” Tina greeted the lanky brunette and directed her eyes from Shane to the door.

“Hi, Tina,” Shane smiled. Seeing the Bette emerge from underneath the pergola made the younger brunette curious and Bette quickly explained the situation. “Bette sent me to escort you to the powder room…to make sure you’re okay.”

Tina blushed at being caught. Even though she wasn’t caught in the “act”, she still felt like she was caught in the “act”. “Thanks, Shane.”

Chapter 8

Tina walked with Shane back to the house. She quickly scanned the room and found the tall brunette speaking with Peggy. Her heart raced at the sight of the brunette. She barely heard the question Shane asked her and only caught on when she heard her name.

“…what do you think, Tina?” Shane asked, smiling when she saw that the blonde couldn’t take her eyes of the gallery owner.

“I’m sorry, Shane. What did you say?” Tina asked, clearly flustered.

“I wanted to know if you would be interested in hanging out with us once we got back to L.A.”

Tina looked over at Shane, whom she had seen at the studio a few times and smiled. “Sure, Shane. I’d like that. Thanks for walking me back in.”

“No problem.” Shane looked at the movie executive. “Look, Tina. It’s not really my place, but I think Bette’s really interested in you.” Shane watched as the blonde’s cheeks grew rosy. “Later,” she said before turning to walk away.
