The color drained from Sarah’s face. She looked at Tina. Tina was being calm but you could see the fire in her eyes. One thing she had told Sarah when they started dating was she couldn’t tolerate someone lying to her. Tina crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair.
Sarah sat there trying to think, trying to find an excuse to amend what she had done.
Tina: “Sarah, I’m waiting, why would you not tell me it was Bette that called? Did you think I wouldn’t find out? Do you have an excuse? Do you have a legitimate reason? I’m listening and you aren’t saying anything. Tell me dammit. Tell me why you lied to me.”

Sarah thought for a moment and realized she had no out. She looked at Tina and explained.
Sarah: “Tina I’m sorry, I am so scared Bette is going to take you from me. When I met her the other night I knew. The way she looked at you, it shows on her face she wants you back. I shouldn’t have lied. I’m sorry. I care about you so much I’m afraid of losing you.”
Sarah was crying now. She continued to explain.
“Tina please forgive me. It won’t happen again, I swear. I was wrong. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.”
Tina took a deep breath, she did care for Sarah. She really didn’t know what she was feeling for Bette .yet. Tina took Sarah’s hand.
Tina: “Sarah you hurt me by lying, and I’m angry with you. But I forgive you. Let’s talk about this, get everything out in the open. Why do you feel so threatened by Bette?”
Sarah: “God Tina don’t you see it? She is back and she wants you. It’s in her eyes, in her demeanor. Plus I see how you respond to her. Damn you and the girls, your friends, her friends put her on this pedestal, like she is some Queen of lesbians, some ***** icon. When the fact is she broke your heart, she screwed you over. And yet you want her in your life. It’s hard do let that happen, to sit back and watch her do it to you again. I guess I thought lying about the call would keep some distance between the two of you.”

Excellent chapter but I don’t think Tina should be flirting with Bette in front of Sarah, thats not cool…Ok flirt away who my kiding.lol. Post soon.

One thing, this isn’t cool Tina can have Sarah while Bette waits on the sidelines. I mean come on whats a girl to do with this? Nope I would not be playing seconds to anybody else and that goes for both Sarah and Bette….
That’s right, just as it should be! Can’t wait to read about how the night progresses. Funny how Sarah all of a sudden got over her insecurities about Bette and Tina, walking away with Sawyer. But, I’m all for it!!! More, please.

Dont let Tina flirt wit Bette Dont hurt Sarah. Sawyer might flirt with Bette that cool. But they do work together so not cool. Let Sawyer get to know the gang. No flirting with Tina for Sawyer. What is wwrong with a Texas accent?? We dont have accents everyone else does… thanks
Sorry to post so many time. I want explain what i say the situation is only the begining part of this chapter. Flirting with Bette is still wrong after what she tell Sarah early.
Gold..this is going to be one hell of a BBQ. Tina’s already a little jealous of Sawyer…and Tina wasn’t completely honest with Sarah about her feelings for Bette. I think Tina’s trying to play it safe. She wants to see how things are with Bette and if they are good for both of them then GREAT. However, if they aren’t then she has her fail-safe, Sarah. Bring on the entertainment…this BBQ is going to be something.
Awesome, Flirting is good gan’t go wrong with the flirting. Just as long as its the right people.
Now this much much more better on how Tina handle her situation with Sarah.

If I were Sarah I would leave now with a little dignity left because surely Tina is going to break her heart, on purpose or not….Like Sawyer though. Its good for Tina to see a little competition.

i totally agree with some others..Sarah have to have self respect and dignity and left..for what Tina said to her is more than clear she still in love with Bette..i hope that BBQ goes well BUT i dont like B&T flirting when Tina is still with Sarah if they are going to get back together they need to show respect and flirt when you bring someone with you is not a good idea..ok im addicted to your story can you post like 10 chapters per day???..lol..thanks :o)

I think it’d be good for Tina to get a little jealous of Sawyer. It’ll let her remember how much she cares for Bette. Can’t wait for the rest of the BBQ!!

Oh, Tina, Tina… “As of right now, it’s you I want to hold and it’s you I want with me” ? Tss… Tss… Common. Bette would have just to appear at this precise moment and one could see the obvious change !
But even if she’s of course not really honest with Sarah here, above all she’s not honest with herself. Simply because she’s afraid of the strong feelings she never stopped to have for Bette, being not sure yet that Bette has totally change and deserve her trust again. And, well, Sarah’s unconditional love is something quite comforting in the middle of such emotional insecurity. That’s pretty unfair for her, don’t you think so Miss Kennard ?
Sarah is the perfect example of self-blindness any people deeply in love will always be able to create : her want and need to remain confident about her final victory against Bette, fighting for Tina’s heart, prove it so well. And that’s touching because we all know how love can erase any dignity’s reaction – and lucidity too.
How obvious, however, were Tina’s true feelings behind her “honest” speech to Sarah…
“I do care about you. I love being with you” : that’s what a friend would say ! What a difference between “I love you” and this “I love being with you”… my, my…
“I still feel something for Bette.”
What an euphemism, Tina !!
And finally, the so revealing nostalgia : “most of those 8 years were the best of my life. It was the kind of love everyone searches for”.
Well, that’s the kind of love Sarah found – but it’s a one-side thing and I’m truly sorry for her…
Now, I think it’s very good for Tina to feel jealous and insecure about the too beautiful Sawyer ! Because she needs it to fully realize how deep are still her feelings for Bette.
And to flirt a bit, well, that will also be a pretty comforting thing ! And I’m not sure Tina is fully conscious of what she’d do acting this way in front of Sarah…
