All eyes turned in the direction of the voice. Knowing without a doubt this was real. Alice was the first too reach Helena, hugging her as though her life depended on it. The others came quickly behind her, all but Bette. Who instead went to greet Peggy who was in the background looking on.

“I just want to say thank you for giving us this moment with her, it’s means a lot to us.”

“Bette there is no need to thank me. Helena insisted that we stop here first and I’m glad we did. It does an old heart good to see that finally my child has a family that she can truly depend on. God knows I was no good in that department. So if anyone should be thanking anyone it’s me. I what to thank you Elizabeth Porter.

“Thank me for what Peggy? I’ve done nothing to be thank for.”

“Oh my dear you’ve done more than you think.”

“I don’t understand.”

“Bette do you have any idea why Helena really came here? Do you?”

Bette nodded no. What in the world could Peggy be talking about. But she had too admit she had always wondered about that. Couldn’t she have ran everything from New York instead? She really had no idea why she came, other than being a pain in her ass. She smile at that thought. Some things she would not change in their relationship and that was one of them. Well maybe she would change a few things.

“You have no idea? Bette the reason she came here was because of me about you. She could not understand how could I give you such praise and never raise an eyebrow at anything that she may have accomplished. What I did to my daughter was strip her of her self worth. I made you the daughter that I always dreamed about having. Even though we only met several years ago you were that daughter. So Bette I owe you an apology as well. I made Helena come here so to speak to check out her competition. She did everything in her power to make you submit but you gave her a fight and that is what she needed. Because in the process she met these wonderful ladies. Who in time will only make each other stronger. That’s what I need to thank you for.
