    To Die Standing Chptr. 7

“I know right like she’s all wrapped up in…” Alice was interrupted from her conversation with Carmen by Tasha tapping her arm vigorously.

“Oww, Baby you know you’re stronger than m…” Again Alice was interrupted from finishing her sentence by Tasha. But this time Tasha grabbed her head with both hands and turned it towards the line at the front of the Planet. There were Tina and Bette in line talking; to the average person they seemed to be having a normal conversation. Only Tasha and Alice could their body language. From the way Tina had her back to the front of the line and her attention was on Bette who was every now and again touching Tina’s elbow, they knew it was more. Alice’s eyes bugged out of her head and she gasped really loudly on the brink of shouting something before Tasha’s hand flew over her mouth.

“Babe, don’t.” Tasha said turning Alice’s head towards her.

“But Tash…” came a muffled reply under Tasha’s hand.

“At least let them get over here. Okay?” Tasha asked staring into her wife’s wide eyes. Alice finally relented and nodded her head with a somber look. Tasha removed her hand smirking and shaking her head at the pouty face glued to her wife. That all changed the second they heard Tina’s voice approach the table.

“I know but she really loves it and I can’t tell her not to do it, it would break her little heart.”

    “I guess, it just seems a little…”

“Dangerous?” Tina smirked at Bette’s need to over protect Angie from a purchase that Tina wanted to make for her.

“Yes, it’s a little risky for a three year old to…”

“Alright stop it!” Alice shouted over Bette causing everyone at the table to look at her. “What the flem-flam is going on with you two?”

“We’re talking about maybe taking Angie out on a Power Wheels. She saw the Jeep and that’s the one that she wants. Bette’s wants to know about the seatbelts and a maybe a roll cage.” Tina finished laughing at the ridiculous idea of Angie needing such precautions for a machine that only goes 2.5 miles per hour.

“I’m not talking about that, I mean you two!” Alice said almost poking Tina in the eye as she pointed at them causing Tina to quickly lean back to avoid being hit. “What’s all this, and don’t think that Tasha didn’t tell me about you guys coming by the apartment the other day.”

    1. Congrats on the career! Sounds great for you! I love this story and this chapter was the right mix of cute, funny, and romantic. Excellent first date…. although, Bette getting drunk and stripping at the restaurant would be a close second!! hahaha

    2. Wonderful update. Loved it. That was a great idea of Bette’s to have dinner on the rooftop and so romantic too. Just perfect for them. So sweet and loving. Loved Tina’s answer to the question about what Bette gets on the first date, “the promise of a second date.” Lovely and fun. Can hardly wait for the next post. Thanks.
