    Tina in a thousand cities

Yes, the blonde of my dreams will never be mine and so I choiced, from the moment she and her husband moved in my appartment building, months ago, to carefully hide any possible clue of the growning passion I feel fo her. God, I even restrict any too big smile each time I cross her – especially if she’s alone (without this so unbelievably lucky man I cannot help but feel awfully jealous about – trying the best I can not to hate !).

She must not guess how I feel about her, that would be desastrous : no doubt she would immediately run away from this gay neighbour of hers – or she could even prefer to move somewhere else and, oh poor me, I would lose the only ray of sunshine in this one-side lovelife of mine: her presence. This so marvellous smile of her, this laugh I’d recognize in a crowd of thousands, her so obviously warm and endearing personnality, this stunning beauty I’m so terribly enraptured by, this unique charm that makes each priceless second spent next to her – above all in the elevator’s slow journey ! – such a gift…

God, how I love her… I love her, I love her, I love her ! How sad it is that I cannot express it anywhere else but on the screen of my laptop…

Stop that now, Porter ! Let’s focus on this chapter you have to finish today, or Helena will be furious tomorrow morning. The publisher always pushing authors to work faster is such a cliché, I know, but however it’s true ! And every writer on hire with the PeabodyBooks Publishing Company knows how truer than anywhere else it is.

Luckily for me, Hel and I are friends for such a long time now, so she’s a bit more understanding and patient with her good old Bette than with others. Friendship’s privilege ! Well, of course I never exploited it. Nevertheless, it’s a highly relieving privilege, I must confess.

Especially now, when I put myself so totally in this new book of mine… It takes all my forces to achieve it, but I have to. For my own good. To free everything I could never express verbally.

    To express my love.

    My love for her.

For the blond of my dreams.

    For Tina Kennard-Parker…

I remember how incredibly nerve-wracking it was to post my very first chapter, so congratulations for taking that giant leap. I know the support I received from so many on this site made all the difference. Your English is perfect, and you did a wonderful job of expressing Bette’s acute pain, and her resignation of the situation. Let’s hope she doesn’t totally give up though! Thank you for including my story in your author’s notes. That story meant so much to me, so it is thrilling to know there is a woman out there in the world who thinks it is a masterpiece. Thank you!
