They had finally made their way over to the gallery, and Bette jumped out of her side of the car so she could help Tina out once again. Bette took her hand as they walked up to the gallery, enjoying some small talk along the way.
"Wow, this gallery is wonderful," Tina smiled, looking to her feet as they walked along. She tried not to be too shy.
"Thank you. I hope you like it," Bette smiled back, looking up to the wonderful building she was so proud of.
"I bet everyone likes it," Tina said, looking up into Bette’s eyes.
Bette found that wording strange. Did Tina mean other women? "Well, I’m sure they do," she started, watching Tina’s smile fade away, "but you’re the only one I’ve taken here after hours like this." She was glad she could soothe Tina’s fear away, and it was true. She usually didn’t care what other women thought about her gallery. She was afraid they wouldn’t like it, but she sincerely wanted to know what Tina would think.
Tina’s smile beamed back. "Really?"
"Yeah," Bette smiled, opening the door for her.
Tina stepped in and her eyes widened. Everything about it was beautiful. "Wow," was all she could say.
Bette was watching Tina look out to the gallery. She was entranced by her expression. Never before had she felt about anyone like this. She found herself smiling at that thought.
"Beautiful," Tina smiled as she walked a little further, standing in front of a canvas painting.
"Mmm," Bette mumbled to herself, referring to Tina. She walked up beside the blonde and crossed her arms. "Do you like this one?"
Tina looked at it for a while before answering. "Well, it’s not my kind of art, but it is beautiful."
Bette smiled softly to herself. She was glad Tina had a mind of her own.
"Bette," Tina started, looking to the side at the brunette. "I sort of have something to tell you."
"Yes?" Bette smiled.
‘Ahh that smile. Why does she look at me like that when I’m trying to say something. She’s making me forget,’ Tina thought to herself. "Umm … I’ve uhh …"
Bette waited patiently for Tina to finish and find her words.
