Seeing the houses, the streets passing by, Tina smiled. Feeling Lilys body in her arms the smiled grew even bigger. Sighing, she closed her eyes briefly wishing she could always remember the feeling. She was happy. Totally and profoundly happy. She knew it was one of those moments when one feel at peace, totally perfectly at ease. One of those rare moments when you realize that you are just happy. That you dont know the reason, that everything and nothing matters. One of those moments when you sighed and a smile appears on your face because just for a second everythng is perfect and you cant explain why or how but it is there. And one have to enjoy it, becuase it past quickly, but the memory of it keeps you warm every time you remember it.

Noticing the neighbourhood, the houses, she smiled again. She was going home. It felt so good, so right to say it, to think about it.

The conversation she had with Bette in the morning was still echoing in her mind. Bette worries and doubts surprised her. It felt nice to know she was as nervous and unsure, not really unsure but as unsettle as she was about their grounds. It made it all even more endearing. It surprised Tina even more to realized that not for a second, after all those sad, confusing and strange moths they were apart, she didnt even doubt about going back home. It just felt natural, the right thing to do.

Every time she remembered Bettes sweetness her heart was breaking down the remaining walls that were protecting it. With each new surprised, Tina was finding the old Bette all over again. The Bette she once fell in love with. It wasnt just the old Bette, it was too a new Bette, an older, wiser, wounded Bette. Which make her even more attractive, more human, immensely sexier if that was possible.

Turning to look at her, seated in the back of the car, Tina sweetly smiled. She could not get enough of her. It was a total surprised to realize ho much she has missed Bettes face. Her smile, the wrinkles that hid so many laughs and tears, her lips, so generous and bold but mostly her eyes. So private and mysterious, so tender too.

Smiling, lightly nodding, Tina sighed watching their home at the end of the street. It was exciting to be able to realize that she was starting a new life. A scary, marvellous, new life. And knowing that Bette was with her, at her side entering the unknown was making it all even better.

“ok guys…here we are…” Shane said parking Bettes car.

Jumping out of the car, she added running to the passengers door.

    “Tee, let me help you…”

Holding the door open, Shane extended her arm to help Tina out, but noticing how clumsily Tina was moving, Shane said,

    “May I?”

Nodding, loving Shanes tender side, Tina smiled placing Lily in her hands. Watching Shane walking towards the house, Bette whispered, helping Tina out of the car,

“You know we have lost her…both of them…”

    Giggling, Tina nodded.

    “I know…isnt it amazing?…”

Nodding, walking besides Tina, Bette said,

“Thank god she lives next door…if the baby cries as she did this morning…we will have to call her…”

    Chuckling, Tina added,

    “Yeah…or invited her in forever…”

Chuckling, Bette closed the front door behind Tina. Walking towards their room, Bette took Tinas hand.

“Wait…” she whispered, stopping her pace.

“Yes?” Asked Tina turning to look at Bette.

“Want to show you something…” Bette whispered, leading Tina to the guest room.

    “Ok” Tina mumbled following Bette.

Sighing, biting her lower lip, Bette opened the door. Stepping back, she invited Tina in.

“What…?” Tina asked just before Bette turned the lights on.

Gasping, unable to say a word, Tina walked inside. Looking around, slowly closing her amazed mouth, she smiled. Turning to look at Bette, she whispered, finding it difficult,

    “When did you?…how did you?”

Looking around, Tina noticed the beautiful walls, the Eloise and all the characters from her stories, paintings. Walking closer, Tina moved her hand to caresses them,

“Careful, might be still wet…” Bette whispered moving to her side.

    “How did you?…When did you?”

    “Shane did it…”

    “She did?” Tina asked, amazed.

    Nodding, Bette said,

“She asked me which was your favourite book as a kid…I told her and then, last night…she did it all…”

“Is amazing…” Tina mumbled walking around the room. Checking the crib, the beautiful crystal mobile, the little chair?

Moving closer to Bette, taking her hand, Tina said,

“I cant believe you did all this..I…”

“I didnt…Shane did..” Bette answered, shyly smiling.

“No, I mean…the room, the crib…” Tina added, looking around still unable to believe what she was seeing.

“I…wanted to have a room for the baby…I just had the crib and…”moving closer, carefully caressing the mobile she added”…I bought this thinking about you…hoping someday you might see it…I…”

Taking Bettes hands in hers, Tina said,

    “I love it”

The words barely made it as she rested her lips on Bettes.

“Now, lest find the artist who has stolen our daughters heart…” she added breaking the kiss with a smile plastered on her face.

Nodding, licking her lips, getting use to having Tina so close, loving every second, Bette followed Tinas steps.

Walking inside their bedroom the found it empty. Looking at each other, surprised, they checked the bathroom and when they didnt find them there, looking at each other again, wondering Shanes whereabouts, they walked towards the kitchen. Seeing Shane outside, close to the pool, cradling the baby, Tina sighed, smiling at Bette.

Just as Bette opened the glass doors, Alice, Carmen, Dana, and Jenny jumped from their hidden places.

“Surprise!!!” They yelled waving their arms.

Surprised, Tina and Bette looked at each other again. Smiling, they walked outside to greet their friends. Dana jumped to hug Tina, clumsily bumping into her belly, which made Alice roll her eyes, smiling. Jenny, shyly smiling, took Bettes hand, before kissing her on the cheek. Taking a couple of glasses from the table, Carmen handed one to Bette and one to Tina, sweetly nodding and smiling to them. Noticing Shane at the other side of the garden, Bette asked,

    “Whats Shane doing over there?”

Rolling her eyes, playing with the straw in her glass, Alice said,

“God!…she didnt want us to scare the baby…she didnt want us to scream…she didnt let us put some music!…she is like a *****!”

Taking a sip of her beverage, she added chuckling.

“She just doesnt get it yet…”

“What?” Asked Tina, trying to hide the smile growing on her face.

“That am the godmother…that she is just…I dont know.. an aunt or something…” Alice said waving to the air, dismissing the topic.

Leaning closer to Bette, Tina whispered,

“Poor Al…she doesnt know we have Mary Poppins living next door…”

Chuckling, Bette nodded, noticing all the presents her friends brought. Pointing to Shane, Tina nodded, smiling at Bette.

Looking from some some shadow, hiding from the sun, Shane, unaware of everything else, was cradling the baby.

“Hey” Tina whispered, stopping at her side.

Startled, Shane turned around to face her.

“Hey…am sorry…I was just going to bring her in..”

    “No, no…is ok..”

Caressing Lilys velvety cheek, Tina said,

    “Thanks”

“Uh?…Oh, that…” Shane whispered shaking her head “… that was Alice…it was her idea..”

“No…”Tina whispered, caressing Shanes thin long bare arm, “I mean the room.. the walls…the painting..”

Shrugging, shaking the head, Shane said,

“Is nothing…Bette told me you liked it..I..Ive never heard of her…she is cool!”

“Yes she is..its fun…my mom used to read it to me…”

Nodding, Shane smiled. Sitting on the chase lounge, offering Shane half of it, Tina added,

“I love it Shane… you are very talented…the whole room is amazing…”

Blushing a little, Shane looked down to the floor. Shaking the head again, she added,

“Bettes been preparing the room for weeks…I just painted the walls…”

Nodding, loving the look on Shanes face, Tina sweetly leaned forward.

“Thank you… she whispered just before kissing Shane lightly on the cheek.

Nodding, surprised and a little embarrassed, Shane shyly smiled before whispering,

    “I…I have to go now…”

Handing the baby to Tina, she added, standing up,

    “Welcome home, Tee…”

    Standing up, Tina muttered,

    “Thank you”

Nodding, straightening her jeans, Shane said,

    “I…I have to go now…”

    “Ok” nodded Tina, smiling.
