    Tina stopped Bette’s ranting by putting a tender hand on her arm. «You didn’t let me finish… I don’t want you to ask me out on another date because I want the be the one doing the asking this time. I want to do something special for you…»

    Tina’s words didn’t sink in right away. Then Bette closed her eyes and breathed a sigh of relief. «Jesus, Tina, you almost gave me a freaking heart attack…»

    Tina was smiling at her. «What ?», Bette wondered.

    «You are so sexy when you’re mad…»

    Bette laughed. «No one has ever said that to me before…»

    «Then I’m glad I said it…». Tina opened the door and stepped out. «How’s Friday ?»

    «Friday’s good…»

    «Do you mind picking me up again ? My car will be in the shop for the whole week-end»

    «No problem… Sleep well», Bette told Tina.

    «I will… See you Friday»

    «Tina?»

    Tina turned around and walked back to Bette’s Saab. «Can I call you ? I don’t think I’ll be able to wait two days before talking to you again…»

    Tina smiled. «You can call me anytime you like… Let me give you my cell number». Tina wrote her number down and gave it to Bette. «Thanks…»

    Bette waited until Tina had disappeared from her sight before driving home. She wondered what Tina had in mind for their second date…

    The next day, Bette met with the girls at The Planet. «God, this is so depressing…», Alice remarked. «How long will we have to wait to open this place for good ? It should be filled with hot, sexy women and it’s just us instead…»

    Dana rolled her eyes. «Gee, thanks Alice…»

    «You know what I mean… Bette, have you heard from Miss Kennard ?», Alice asked.

    «No, I haven’t. I’m sure she’ll call when she has some news»

    «You’re calm about this all of a sudden… What’s going on with you? Where’s the mayor of Alphaville when we need her?», Alice teased.

    Bette gave her an angry look. «Get off my case, Alice». Her secret date with Tina made her uncomfortable. She hated going behind her friends back, especially since her relationship with Tina could mean trouble for their business. What if Tina’s boss found out ? Would that hurt their chances for the rezoning?

    11. it’s really not the time for the ex to show up at the door step. nice chapter I like it, but I think they should have waited to know each other better so then the act of love will be more intense when there are strong emotions involved, but hey don’t listen to me I am that kind of old fashioned, thanks for the up date, i love this story.
