    The Unexpected cha.2

Once in my car the tears really began to run down my face. I could hardly see

My phone vibrated letting me know a text was received.

I notice it was from Erica.

‘Babe, leaving work now. Want me to pick anything up for dinner?’

When I looked up I noticed someone crossing the street but it was too late. It looked like a penguin or something. I just hit something with my car. I couldn’t believe it. Could this day get any worse?

I quickly stop the car to see if they were okay.

I ran as fast as I could just to come face to face with the most beautiful brunette I had ever seen. I wanted to touch her just to make sure she was real.

“Ma’am, are you okay? I asked.

The brunette stared at me with a look of panic.

“Yes, yes, I’m fine. I just need to get the hell out of here!”

She tries to stand but is still light headed so I help her up.

“Maybe I should call for an ambulance?” I didn’t know what else to do

I noticed the church across the street, with a rush of people running out.

    Maybe they could help.

“No! Let’s just drive there. Come on”

I nod and guide her to the passenger’s side of my car.

Once she safely inside I run to the other side and speed of. As I was getting ready to turn and permanently remove the church from my rearview mirror I see a bride run out of the church. With a devastated look in her eyes.

    ———

Once the blond turned the street, I finally felt I could relax and really deal with how bad my head hurt. I could feel blood dripping from the side of my forehead.

“Do you have any napkins in the car?”

    “I do, glove compartment.”

It was the first time I really looked at the blond. I could tell she had been crying. I guess this wasn’t the best day of her life either. She was beautiful. I felt like I knew her some how. I focused on the task at hand. Finding the napkins.

    1. I hope Bette found out her bride cheeted on her too and didn’t just bolt because she was afraid of commitment because that would make her an ass and that is no way to start a new friendship/relationship for B&T. I love the start and pps.
