The Triangle of Love – Chapter 8

    Dana: Alice, please don’t le…

Before Dana could finish her sentence, the door slammed shut, once again startling Dana. She couldn’t believe it. She had just spilled her guts to Alice, and been plainly rejected. She didn’t necessarily regret telling Alice, but she couldn’t help thinking that their friendship was over. She collapsed back onto the couch and began to cry. Meanwhile, Alice had made her way straight to the bar. She couldn’t get her head around what Dana had said. ‘She loves me?’ she thought to herself, the thought becoming less and less believable. She parked her car, and wandered into the bar. It was only 12.15 in the afternoon, but she didn’t care. She wanted to forget all about this morning. She walked into the bar and hoisted herself up onto one of the bar stools closest to the bar.

Bartender: What can I get for you?

    Alice: Tequila.

    Bartender: Tequila?

    Alice: Shots. Many shots.

She paid the bartender for 10 shots, before downing the lot. She then asked for 3 beers. She downed those as well before thanking the bartender and leaving the bar, stumbling all over the place. The bartender looked on, watching her leave. He couldn’t believe she had ordered what she did at this time of day, but couldn’t refuse to serve a customer. He just hoped she would be alright. Alice made her way to the car park, squinting to try to find her car. When she spotted the blue Mini, she stumbled towards the car, bumping into others along the way. She unlocked the car and climbed in, not thinking for a second. She started the car and drove out of the car park. She drove down the street, swerving all over the place. Her eyes were glazed over, and tears were streaming down her face. She sped up and she saw the light about to change to red. She just made it through the junction, but failed to see the corner approaching. She didn’t have time to brake quickly enough, and went straight off the road, barrelling down the field and finally coming to a stop, after hitting a tree. The car had hit the tree sideways on, causing the car to wrap around the tree. Unfortunately, it was the driver’s side that hit the tree, and Alice sat there, motionless…

    1. Hi Amber:

Very nice chapter, but you leave me in a cliffhanger, what will happen with Alice, is she wounded? what is Dana going to do? Well, hopefully, you will post soon. Thanks
